Just before going to “Does Krishna (Vishnu) (God) protect his devotees (believers) (Dharma and Adharma story)“, let us know a brief, basic and very important information.

In a place called Bhouvana, there lived two friends, one a Brahmana called Gautama (not the Maharshi Gautama) and a Vaishya known as Manikundala.

(Brahmana is the first of the four classes and Vaishya is the third of the four classes of the Hindu Varna Dharma).

Gautama’s mother gave lot of ill advices to her son.

Thus Gautama told to his friend that we both will go to some other place and will make lot of wealth by doing some business.

But for this Manikundala said that, already his father has made lot of wealth and there is no need to go anywhere else.

But for this Gautama told to Manikundala that, a son who depends on the wealth of his father would never come up in his life and will be left in the lurch.

After such type of lot of attractive words, finally Manikundala was convinced by Gautama to leave to some other place for business.

But Manikundala never thought of the ill thinking of the Gautama.

Later both the friends left for there business work with the main finance for this business and travel was provided by Manikundala.

While in the travel Gautama started to discuss about the ill effects of the Dharmatmas (Dharmic people).

Gautama said to Manikundala that Dharmatmas (Dharmic people) never get the money and also they would never be in happy.

Dharmatmas (Dharmic people) always will be suffering.

But for this Manikundala said that, whatever Gautama is telling is incorrect.

Every human should follow the path of Dharma and the money comes and goes and it is not the road to be in happiness.

Both the friends had lot of argument on this and neither of them were able to come to a final decision.

Four Sanata Kumaras trying to enter Vaikuntha. But the divine security guards of Vaikuntha stopping them.

Later Bhagavan Vishnu (Krishna) allows them to enter Vaikuntha.

On this, both decided to ask to the people and who ever wins then his full wealth has to be given to the winner.

Thus both started to ask to many people and many of them told that followers of Dharma would always have to be in great problems,

they would never have the money and would never be in happiness.

So after this both came into conclusion that since Manikundala has lost in this argument, he has to give all his money to Gautama.

Thus Manikundala who follows the Dharma gave all his money to his friend Gautama.

But while giving his money, Manikundala again told Gautama that ADharma is only an illusion and it is never a reality.

But to continue again, both argued for sometime and again they had another bet.

This time whoever loses will have to chop off his hands.

Again both the friends asked many citizens about the Dharma.

And again many said that whoever follows the Dharma has to be in great agony and Dharma followers are never a happy people.

So this time Manikundala has to lose his both of his hands.

After this situation, Gautama asked his friend, how are you feeling now.

But Manikundala who follows Dharma, had the same answer.

Manikundala said, I am with Dharma and the citizens who follow Dharma are always happy whose heart will always be in happiness and never they would be in sadness.

Bhagavan Krishna along with Arjuna enters Vaikuntha and requests Bhagavan Vishnu (Krishna) to free the Brahmana children.

But this time Gautama got in furious position and said to his friend that –

again they will have another bet and this time whoever loses has to cut off his head.

Manikundala agreed over this and both started to ask the praja about the same question about the Dharmatmas would never be in happiness.

Again the answer was the same, that is Dharmaatmas would never be in happiness.

This time Gautama took off the eyes of his friend and left Manikundala in the centre of a forest.

Manikundala was agonized and was not able to do anything and sat in some place near the river side of the Gautama Ganga (or Godavari River) and took rest with lot of pain and agony.

At the same place there was a statue of the Lord Sri Vishnu (Krishna).

This is the place where every night Vibhishana (brother of Ravana) was coming to pray to Lord Sri Vishnu (Krishna).

Starting from Brahma Deva, Rudra Deva and others praying Bhagavan Vishnu (Krishna).

On that day also Vibhishana along his son came there to pray to Lord Sri Vishnu (Krishna).

Vibhishana’s son found Manikundala there, who was weeping because of his Karma, that he had lost his both eyes and all his wealth.

Vibhishana’s son asked Manikundala about his story and Manikundala told his full story to Vibhishana’s son.

The same story was said to Vibhishana by his son.

Vibhishana told his son that many years ago he had joined with Lord Sri Rama in the war against his own brother Ravana.

In that war) Ravana’s son Meghanatha had shot a arrow towards Lakshmana and Lakshmana fall unconscious.

For this the great monkey man, Hanuman had gone to Himalayas to bring a sanjeevini mulika (herb) to cure Lakshmana.

The name of that hill was Dronagiri (Near the Himalayas).

While taking the hill back, some of the flowers of that mulika (plant) had fallen in this place.

Let us search if we were able to find it out.

For the surprise of the Vibhishana that mulika (plant) had turned into a big tree.

Bhagavan Vishnu avatars Bhagavan Rama and Bhagavan Krishna – He is always ready to save his real devotees.

So immediately Vibhishana picked up some of the mulika (plants) and given it to Manikundala.

As soon as the mulika (plant) started to do its work, Manikundala regained his hands and eyes and was fine in no time.

Later both Vibhishana and his son left to there place to Lanka and Manikundala also started to move to some other place.

While in travel, Manikundala came to a new place called Mahapura.

The Raja (King) of that place was known as Maharaja and he had no son and has only one daughter and that too without anything good happening who had not got the eyes.

Maharaja had ordered in his nation that who ever cures the illness of his daughter would eventually become his son-in-law and also the Raja of his Mahapura pradesham (place).

Thus knowing the great value of the Sanjeevini, Manikundala used the mulika (plant) of the Sanjeevini and made the Princess of the Mahapura to regain her eye sight.

Thus Manikundala got married with the Princess and also became the Raja (King) of the Mahapura after the death of the Maharaja.

In the meantime Gautama had lost all his wealth and because of some misdeeds done by Gautama,

the soldiers of the Manikundala arrested Gautama and brought back to Manikundala’s court.

Here after knowing that Gautama as his own friend), Manikundala asked what has happened to you?

How did you lost all your huge wealth?

Gautama told all his story to Manikundala.

Later knowing the Adharma works done by Gautama, Manikundala said that only Dharmatma (Dharmic person) would win in the final times and no Adharma can win all the times,

especially during the time when Adharmi would had lost all his good Karmas.

But Manikundala a Dharmatma, never left his Dharma and gave half money of his to Gautama.

Such are the virtues of the people who follow the path of Dharma.

PS: Bhagavan Lord Sri Vishnu (Krishna) always holds the hands of all, but would never leave the hands of the Dharmaatmas.

So we need to do only good Karmas and chant Lord Sri Vishnu (Krishna) names to get the blessings of the Lord Sri Vishnu (Krishna).
