First Let us know the meaning of the name Sahadeva: Sahadeva = Saha + Deva, here Saha means a supporter and Deva means a Devata / Demigod, here it is Ashvini Kumara (Kumar).

Thus Sahadeva means, someone who is always supportive, especially to his elder brothers starting from Yudhisthira, Bhima, Arjuna and Nakula.

Sahadeva wives names are : Draupadi and Vijaya. | Sahadeva parents names are : King Pandu and Madri. Kunti was a foster mother to Sahadeva and Nakula. Position of Sahadeva : Sahadeva had a prominent place among the five Pandavas. After the war he was made the king of Madra.

Sahadeva siblings names are : Karna, Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna and Nakula. Sahadeva children names are : Shrutasena (son) by Draupadi, Suhotra (son) by Vijaya and Daughter Sumitra. Sahadeva home is : Hastinapura or Hastinavati (Kuru Dynasty) and Madra.

How Sahadeva is related to Lord Krishna : King Shurasena and Queen Marisha’s children were Vasudeva [Lord Krishna’s father Vasudeva (वसुदेव)], Samudravijaya (son) and Pritha (Also called as Kunti) (daughter). Thus both Vasudeva (वसुदेव) and Kunti were brother and sister in relation. Consequently, Lord Krishna is a maternal cousin of Sahadeva.

Different names of Sahadeva are as given below with meanings of each name:

Now let us know Sahadeva’s secrets as given below (Pandu Maharaj and Sahadeva secret is as given below):

After years of meditation in the forest, Pancha (Five) Pandavas’ father King Pandu asked all his sons to eat his flesh when he died. By doing so, they would be blessed with great knowledge. But, when Pandu died, none of his sons had the courage to do so.

Later on, when Sahadeva saw some ants taking a piece of flesh from his father’s body, he put that piece in his mouth and got powers which he could never have imagined.

Sahedeva saw all that had happened (about Kuru and Yadava’s, Bhishma’s vow etc.) and was about to happen (like gambling game, Kurukshetra war etc.).

When Sahadeva met Bhagavan Lord Sri Krishna, he (Sahadeva) was made to vow to never speak of anything he knew and if anybody asked a question, he would always reply with a question.

As Sahadeva knew all that was about to happen, he used occult sciences to show people how a small ripple lead to a disastrous or good result.

Here few point to be noted are: 1. All the Pancha (Five) Pandavas, were the avatars of different Devatas like: a. Yudhisthira was an avatar of Lord Sri Yama Deva. b. Bhima was an avatar of Lord Sri Vayu Deva.

c. Arjuna was an avatar of Lord Sri Indra Deva. d. Nakula and Sahadeva were the avatars of the Ashvini Kumaras.

[(Ashvini Kumaras original names are: Nasatya (Nakula) and Dasra (Sahadeva). Same two Ashvini Kumaras had taken birth as Meinda and Dvivida during Ramayana period.)]

2. In these, the most learnt was Bhimasena (Bhima). He was knowing everything. After Lord Sri Krishna and Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi, Bhimasena is the only divine person who was knowing everything in Mahabharata.

3. Bhimasena (Bhima) never ever interfered which Lord Sri Krishna was against. Bhimasena knows everything, but kept quiet as per the instructions of Bhagavan Lord Sri Krishna.

4. We should always remember that Lord Sri Vayu Deva will become next Lord Sri Brahma Deva in the next Maha Kalpa. Since Bhimasena (Bhima) was an avatar of Lord Sri Vayu Deva, same Bhimasena (Bhima) (i.e., Lord Sri Vayu Deva) will become next Lord Sri Brahma Deva in the next Maha Kalpa.

(Lord Sri Vayu Deva has taken totally 3 avatars: Hanuman, Bhima and Sri Madhwacharya Ji. All these 3 are one and the same, but with different avatars during different periods / Yugas.)

5. There are unlimited number of hidden stories in the Great Epic of Mahabharata. We need to learn from a correct Vaishnava Guru, to know as much of the hidden and correct stories from Mahabharata.
