Just before going to “Why do we suffer on earth (Hinduism) | After punishment in hell (Naraka) why suffering on earth | If God loves us why do we suffer“, let us have some brief information.

Few of the common questions about this subject is as given below:

Why do we suffer on earth (Hinduism) | If God loves us why do we suffer | 3 reasons why god allows suffering | What is suffering | Examples of suffering in the world today |

This is a common question in most of the human beings today, especially the agnanis / less knowledgeable people of Kali Yuga, will always have this question in his / her mind.

If Lord Sri Yama Deva gives all the shiksha / punishment to us in the Naraka (Hell), then why we need to suffer on this earth also? Why so much hardships on earth also?

Why as been humans or been any animals or plants or any living or non-living organisms, why we need to suffer so much on this earth? (yes, even non-living beings have to suffer on this earth).

This is very well and beautifully explained in both the Great Mahabharata and also in Garuda Purana.

Dear friends, there’s huge hierarchy even in the paapa / sin:

For small paapa / sin, punishment is different | For big paapa / sin, punishment is different |

For a robber, punishment is different | For a corrupt person, punishment is different |

For a person who always gives trouble to his / her spouse there is a different punishment | etc.

Similarly, there are many many number of paapa / sins we do, and we need to go through the ‘paapa karma’ of all these sins, either today or tomorrow, in both Naraka and also on earth we have to get the punishment and there’s no getting away in Lord Sri Vishnu’s court.

See, the punishment which we don’t get in Naraka (there are different types of Narakas), that punishment we will get on earth.

For example, if someone will be getting a headache or stomach ache or any small punishment, such kind of punishments or any disease or hardships of money etc. etc. etc. can’t be given in the Naraka.

Such punishments and sufferings has to be faced on earth only and not in Naraka (Hell).

Another example, if someone has done 99.45 number of paapas / sins. In this total 99.45 numbers, 99 numbers we will have to face the sufferings in either one Naraka or in more than one Naraka.

But the remaining 0.45 we will have to face the consequences on earth and not in Naraka. This is just like someone will be facing huge amount of problems in his / her office.

But when he / she comes out of his office, he / she might have to face a small amount of problem on road also (this could be the other way also as per our Karmas).

For the small amount of paapa / sin, punishment won’t be given in one or Narakas. This punishment we have to face on this earth itself.

Just think my dear friends, if we are facing just 0.45 amount of punishment on earth, then how much punishment we will be getting in Naraka (Hell) for the original 99 amount / number of the punishment.

The yatana / sufferings which we have to face in either one Naraka or more than one Narakas are huge, really huge compared to the yatana / sufferings we face on this earth.

The sufferings we face on earth is too limited, too small in quantity compared to the sufferings we face in Naraka.

Similarly, the Great Mahabharata explains about the sufferings / punishments we need to face for our paapas / sins on earth and not in Naraka.

My dear friends, just think if everything is okay for us, if everything is great for us, if everything is going good for us throughout our lives, then we will definitely won’t learn anything on this earth.

We will surely be a waste product on this earth, if everything is just correct for us.

Thus for this, we have do the sadhana / achieve (both material and spiritual) on this earth to climb the tree of Sanatana Dharma.

We must have heard the people who have achieved great things (both material and spiritual) would definitely had faced great sufferings through his / her life.

Because, nothing comes easily. Lord Sri Vishnu doesn’t give anything easily to anybody. Lord Sri Vishnu tests us in different ways.

For few, Lord Sri Vishnu would make to born in the rich family. That child would have enjoyed a lot of material things throughout his / her life.

But he / she would have not learnt much what his / her father or mother would have learnt when his / her father or mother were young.

Thus that child’s future won’t be as good as his / her parents.

It’s okay even though that child may have lots and lots of money. But what is the use.

That child should know how to use that money, otherwise that child will fall into a huge ditch, which will make that child’s life hard and difficult in the coming days.

That’s why Sri Hari has designed our lives in such a way that, whoever faces the difficulties in his / her life in his / her young age, would have learnt more than compared to a child who have enjoyed many many material things in his / her young age.

That’s the difference.

I am not just talking about the material things. In today’s world (I am talking about the Kali Yuga), people want to achieve everything materially.

But what about the spirituality? What about the bhakti / devotion towards Sri Hari. What is the use even though you achieve in your life materially? What is the use?

Finally we have to die, we have to face the same chakra / cycle of life and death.

Again we need to face the Naraka, again we will be born on earth (that too if we have done some good deeds in our previous life).

Otherwise, we will be in Naraka for a longer time. Again same thing repeats.

Thus, always remember: If we don’t face the real difficulties, real hardships in our life, we won’t be able to do the sadhana.

Especially the spiritual sadhana we will definitely won’t do.

For this reason, Sri Hari has created the dukkha / sufferings also for us, so that we will be able to do the sadhana (I am talking more about the spiritual sadhana than the material sadhana).

If dukkha / sufferings are not there, we will be surely falling into the great ditch.

Thus if we need the spiritual or even the material sadhana, we have to do the real sadhana.

We have show bhakti (devotion) towards Lord Sri Vishnu. We have to learn and teach the Great Sanatana Dharma.

We have to learn the Great Mahabharata, Ramayana, Bhagavatam, Bhagavad Gita, etc. to come up in life (both spiritual and material).

We need to learn, not to harm anybody in anyway.

We need to look after our family. Just like our parents would have looked after us when we were young, similarly we need to look after our parents when they become old.

We need to do daanam / dharma (righteous things) as much as possible.

Don’t want to harm anybody in anyway way. | Don’t be a corrupted person. | Don’t harm the sadhu people. |

Don’t bother the sajjanas (followers of Dharma). | Give respect to Guru and all the elderly people. |

Talk softly when you are speaking to other sadhus and sajjanas. | Do your duty giving your 100%.

In whole, just follow the Great Sanatama Dharma. | etc.

Our Dharma says, “dharmo rakshati, rakshitaha“. If you follow dharma, dharma will definitely protect you.

If we want to come out of this hardships, difficulties, sufferings, the only and best way in this Kali Yuga is doing the naama smaranam (chanting of names) of Sri Hari.

This is very easy and the most powerful thing to do in this Kali Yuga.

Few of Lord Sri Vishnu (names) are given below:

Sri Hariye namaha | Sri Vishnuve namaha | Sri Narayanaya namaha | Sri Raamaaya namaha | Sri Krishnaaya namaha |

Sri Govindaaya namaha | Sri Mukundaaya namaha | Sri Purushottamaaya namaha | Sri Vasudevaaya namaha |

Sri Vittalaaya namaha | Sri Pandurangaaya namaha | Sri Srinivaasaaaya namaha | Sri Venkateshvaraaya namaha | Sri Rangaaya namaha | etc. etc. etc.

Which ever one or more names you like about Lord Sri Vishnu, you can do the ‘naama smaranam’ (chanting of names) of that one or names to get rid of all the difficulties.

Yes, it won’t come in one day or one month. It will take it’s own time. But surely the ‘naama smaranam’ (chanting of names) of Lord Sri Vishnu will definitely help all of us.
