Sorrow : Sorrow is originated from the Sanskrit word Sankatam. Serve : Serve is derived from the Sanskrit word Sevam (Seva). Word : Given word to someone. This English word is taken from the Sanskrit word Vachanam (Vachan).

Atom : Anu is a pure Sanskrit word which means atom in English. Adidas : Name itself says the meaning. In Sanskrit Adi means grand first and das/dasa means servant of Lord Sri Vishnu. Total meaning is the grand first servant of Lord Sri Vishnu (probably Lord Sri Brahma Deva name).

Propagation : Pracharam is the original word of thie English word propagation. Shelter : Sharanam (Sharan) is the Sanskrit word for shelter in English. Homicide : Hatyam is the original word of the English Word Homicide. Genocide : Janahatya is the original Sanskrit word of genocide in English.

Geno : Janumam (Janma) is the correct Sanskrit word of the English word Geno. Senate : English word senate is taken from the Sanskrit word Sabham / SabhaMagic / Magician : Maya / Mayavi / Mantrika are the words used in Sanskrit which has the same meaning as in English words magic / magician.

Magical : Mantrikam / Mantrika / Mantrik is the original word used in Sanskrit for magical. Secure : In Sanskrit Surakshitam / Surakshita / Surakshit is the word used which has the same meaning as secure in English.

Protect : Protect is the simple word of the Sanskrit word Parithranaya (to protect). This Sanskrit word is said by svayam Lord Sri Krishna in Sri Bhagavad Gita.

Servant : Sevakam / Sevaka / Sevak is the Sanskrit word for servant which has the similar meaning. Attack : Attack is the simple form of the Sanskrit word Akramanam / Akramana / Akraman which has the similar meaning.

Pious : Pious is the short form of the Sanskrit word Punyatmam / Punyatma / Punyatm which is similar in meaning as pious. Atrocity : Atyacharam / Atyachara / Atyachar is the Sanskrit word for atrocity which is a corrupted version.

Rose flower : Raja pushpam (king of flowers) is the Sanskrit word for rose. Chest : Vaksham / Vaksha / Vaksh is the meaning of English word chest in Sanskrit. Vaksh = Chaksh = Chest. Tambourine : Tamburam / Tambura / Tambur is a musical instrument name in Sanskrit. Tambourine is the corrupted word here.

Wisdom : Vivekam / Viveka / Vivek is the meaning of wisdom in Sanskrit. Matter : Maatram / Maatra / Maatr is the Sanskrit version for the English word matter. What : What in Sanskrit is Yath / Yat. Directly derived from Sansrkit. Another word for what in Samskruta is ‘Kim’.

Hand : Hastam / Hasta / Hast is the Sanskrit word for hand. Supreme : Sarvottamam / Sarvottama / Sarvottam is the Sanskrit word for this English word supreme. Mirage : A word called Maya in Sanskrit has the same meaning as mirage. Self : Swa / Sva / Swayam in Sanskrit means self in English.

Ignorance : Agnyanam (अज्ञानं) (Ajñānaṁ) / Agnyana / Agnyan is the Sanskrit word for ignorance in English. Mind : Manaha (Manah) or Manasa (Manas) is the Sanskrit word for mind. Math / Maths : We all know maths is a mind using subject and not easy for all.

In few Indian languages we use the word Matih / Mati [for example you have lost your Matih / Mati – means lost control of mind (in Sanskrit mind means manaha / manas)], that is, a job can be done using the mind.

You : Tvam / Tva / Tum / Tu is the Sanskrit word for the English word you. Those : Tamam / Tama / Tam is the Sanskrit word for the English word those. Mine : Mamam / Mama / Mam is the Sanskrit word for the English word mine. It : In Sanskrit we use a word called ‘Asti‘ means ‘is it’. ti‘ is similar to English part ‘it’.

Bind / Bondage : Bandhanam / Bandhan / Bandh is the word used in Sanskrit which has the similar meaning as Bind / Bondage in English.

Vocabulary : Vaakyam / Vaakya is the Sanskrit word used for the English word vocabulary. Stanza : Shlokam / Shloka is the Snskrit word for the English word stanza. Protest : Pratishodam / Pratishoda / Pratishod is the similar word for the English word protest. Youth : Youth is similar to the Sanskrit word Yuva.

Navel : Nabhi is the original Sanskrit word for the English word navel. Curriculum : In Sanskrit Paatyakramam means curriculum in English. Also in Sanskrit for school we call as Gurukulam / Gurukula / Gurukul whose pronounciation is very close to Curriculum in English.

Naked: Nagna is the Sanskrit word of the English word naked. Mandate : In India we use the Sanskrit word Matadaanam, which means mandate in English. Upper : Uparitana / Uppari is the Sanskrit word for upper. Crow : Kaka is the Sanskrit word for the English crow.

Shine: Kaashate (Kaa + Shate – Give importance to the second part of the word Kaashate) is the Sanskrit word for the English word shine.

Vision : Vikshanam / Vikshana / Vikshan is the Sanskrit word for the English word vision. Science : Shastra is the Sanskrit original word for the English word science.

Widow : Widhawa / Vidhava is the Sanskrit word for this English word widow. Daring : Dhairyam is the Sanskrit word for the English word daring. Sound : Shabdam / Shabda / Shabd is the Sanskrit word for sound. Anxious : Ashanti / Axhanti is the Sanskrit word.

Stone : In Sanskrit it is called as shilam. Scripture : In Sanskrit a word called Shruti is used. Burden : Bharam / Bhara / Bhar is the Sanskrit word. Population : Prajam is the word in Sanskrit.

Duty : Dharma is the Sanskrit word for the English word duty. Angry : Amarsha is the Sanskrit word. Arrest : Asadyam / Asadya is the Sanskrit word for this English word arrest. Eyes : Akshyam / Akshya is the Sanskrit word.

Bond : Bandanam / Bandana / Bandan is the Sanskrit word. Provoke : Prakopitam / Prakopita / Prakopit is the Sanskrit word.

Clan : Kulam / Kula / Kul / Culam / Cula / Cul is the Sanskrit word. Page : Patram / Patra / Patr and also Putam / Puta / Put are the two words in Sanskrit. Bull : Ballvardam / Ballvarda Ballvard is the Sanskrit word. From the same word the Hindi ‘Bbel / Bel’ can into existence.

Corner : Konam / Kona / Conam / Cona is the Sanskrit word. Anarchy : Arajakatam / Arajakata / Arajakat is the Sanskrit word. Road : Rasta / Raste is the Indian word. Gloom : Gam / Gum is the Indian word.

Carnal : Kaamam / Kaama / Kaam is the Sanskrit word. Cupid : Kaama / Kaamadeva / Kaamadev is the Sanskrit word. Pain : Pidanam / Pida is the Sanskrit word. Genesis : Janmam / Janma / Janm is the Sanskrit word.

Loafer : Lafanga is the Indian word. Adam : Aadi / Adityam / Aditya is the Sanskrit word. Clean / Clear : Kora / Cora is the Indian word (remember the Hindi song – Kora kaagasa tha yein mana mera). Near : Nikatam is the Sanskrit word. Madness : Madakam is the Sanskrit word.

Flower : From Samskruta word Pushpam / Pushpa / Pushp we have another Indian word Phool (also can be spelled as Fhool), with this we have the English word Flower. Loot / Looter : We have a Sanskrit word for this as Loontakam. Jealous : Jalna is the Indian word.

Meet : Milanam / Milana / Milan is the Sanskrit word. Society : Samajam / Samaja / Samaj is the Sanskrit word. Dare : Dheeram / Dheera / Dheer is the Sanskrit word. Star : Sitaram is the Sanskrit word.

Persevere : Prayasam / Prayasa / Prayas is the Sanskrit word. She : Sa (सा) is the Sanskrit word. Capable : Kalpusham is the Sanskrit word. Direction : Disham is the Sanskrit word. Distance : Dooram / Doora / Door is the Sanskrit word. Jesus : Isha / Ishwar is the Sanskrit name.

There : Tatram is the Sanskrit word. Surprise : Samsarpanam / Samsarpana / Samsarpan is the Sanskrit name. Another word for surprise is Ashcharyam which is also very close to surprise. Suddenly : Sahasaam is the Sanskrit word. Grave (serious) : Gambhiram / Gambhira / Gambhir is the Sanskrit word.

Difficult : Dukhenam is the Sanskrit word. Unstable : Astiram / Astira / Astir is the Sanskrit word. Gait / Direction : Gatim / Gati is the Sanskrit word. I / I am : Aham (Aham Brahmaasmi – I am God) is the Sanskrit word(s).

Sonic / Sound : Svaniki / Svanici is the Sanskrit word. Senses : Sachetanam / Sachetana / Sachetan is the Sanskrit word. Sensor : Sparsham / Sparsha / Sparsh is the Sanskrit word. This : Etat is the Sanskri word.

Process : Prakriyam / Prakriya / Prakriy is the Sanskrit word. Procreate : Prasuyate is the Sanskrit word. Venom / Vicious : Visham / Visha / Vish is the Sanskrit word. Berry (a kind of fruit) : Badarikam / Bararika / Badari / Badri (Remember Badrinath) is the Sanskrit word.

Celibacy : Sanyasi / Sanyasa / Sanyas is the Sanskrit word. Asylum / refuge : Ashrayam / Ashraya / Ashray is the Sanskrit word. Person : Purusham / Purusha / Purush is the Sanskrit name. Monk : Munim (Muni) is the Sanskrit name.

Broad / Vast : Bruhad (Brihad) is the Sanskrit name. Vast : Viratam (Virat) is the Sanskrit word. Mammoth : Mahantaram / Mahantara / Mahantar is the Sanskrit word. Shoot (of plants) : Shiram / Shira / Shir is the Sanskrit word.

Warrior: Veeram / Veera / Veer is the Samskruta word. Get : Gateshu is the Sanskrit word short form of get. Broken : Bhagnam / Bhagna / Bhagn is the Sanskrit word. Sleep / Lying down : Shayanam / Shayana / Shayan is the Sanskrit word.

Sibling / Infant : Shishunam / Shishu is the Sanskrit name. Attacker : Akramaka (Akramanakari) is the Sanskrit word. Satisfied : Santvayitva is the Sanskrit word. Thereafter : Thathamam / Thathama Thatham is the Sanskrit word.

Alone : Akevalam (Kevalam) or Akela or Ekam is the Sanskrit word. Are : Asi is the Sanskrit word. Assurance : Ashvasanam / Ashvasana / Ashvasan is the Sanskrit word. Paternal : Paternal means the father side. Father in Sanskrit means Pitru from where the English world Father name been taken from.

Thus from Pitru (father), we have got the parental word name. The correct word for paternal is paitruka / pitriya. 

Maternal : Maternal means the mother side. Mother in Sanskrit means Mathru from where the English world Mother name been taken from. Thus from Mathru (mother), we have got the maternal word name from the Sanskrit word maathruka. Mango : In Sanskrit mango means Amra.

Teacher : Only in Sanksrit, we have single and unique names for male teacher and female teacher, means instead of telling ‘male teacher’, with two words it would be one single word. In Sanskrit Adhyapaka is called a male teacher and Adhyapaki is called a female teacher. Off course since all Indian languages are derived from Sanskrit, even many Indian languages also have one word.

Calculus : A maths subject. In Sanskrit the word used is KalanaTrigonometry : India is proud for the invention of the Trigonometry. In Sanskrit Trikonaamaapana is the word used. Grapes : Draksha / Draksh is the original Sanskrit word used for grapes. Sapodilla : Sapodilla is the corrupted word of the Sanskrit word Sapota.

End: Antam / Anta / Ant is the Sanskrit word for end. Horse : In Sanskrit horse means Ashvam (Ashva). Camphor : In Sanskrit camphor means Karpuram / Karpura / Karpur. Also in Arabic camphor means Kemfr.

Monkey : MarkaTa is the Sanskrit word for monkey. Vanakkam : This is Tamil word like Vandanam / Namaskaaram in Sanskrit. Similarly in Kannada it is pronounced as Vandane / Vandanegalu. Also in north Indian languages it is spelled as Vandana etc.

Triangle : Triangle is a corrupt version of the Sanskrit word Trikonam. Pentagon : Pentagon is a corrupt version of the Sanskrit word Panchakonam / Panchakona / Panchakon / Panchkon. Hexagon : Hexagon is a corrupt version of the Sanskrit word ShasTakonam / ShasTakona / ShasTakon.

Heptagon : Heptagon is the corrupt version of the Sanskrit word Saptakonam / Saptakona / Sapnakon. Octagon : Octagon is the corrupt version of the Sanskrit word AshTakonam / AshTakona / AshTakon.

Nonagon / Nanogon : Nonagon / Nanogon is a corrupt version of the Sanskrit word Navamakonam / Navakonam / Navakona / Navakon. Decagon : Decagon is a corrupt version of the Sanskrit word Dashakonam / Dashakona / Dashakon.

Addition / Add : In Sanskrit the word is Adhikam means Addition / Add. Subtraction / Subtract : Shodhayati / Shodhana is the Sanskrit word. Bumble bee : Bhramaraka means bumblebee in Sanskrit. Burn / Burning : Dahanam / Dahana / Dahan is the Sanskrit word which means burn / burning.

Cruel : In Sanskrit the word is Kruram / Krura / Krur. Dumb : Idum / Edum means dumb in Sanskrit. Estate / home : In Sanskrit ‘astatAti‘ means estate / home. Genuine : One of the Sanskrit meaning of genuine is jenya.

Hunter : In Samskruta hantakam / hantaka / hantak means hunter. Cook : In Sanskrit pAkuka means a cook. Give importance to second part of Sanskrit word.

Litter : In Sanskrit itya means litter. Look : In Samskruta lok means look. Lokate means ‘look at’. Mad : Matta means mad in Sankrit. ‘Unmatta’ means madness in Sanskrit. Mass / Weight : In Sanskrit masa means mass or weight.

Meet / Unite: Methate or Mith or milanam / milana / milan means meet / unite in Sanskrit. Overlook / look upon / observe : In Sanskrit avalokate or avalok means ‘over look’ or ‘look up’ or simply means ‘observe’.

Press / pressure : In Sanskrit preshate or just simply presh is the similar word. Proud / proudness : In Sanskrit praudha / praudhate are the words used.

Rite / Rites : In English this means some way of practice or a way or general course. In Sanskrit there is a word called reeti, which has the same meaning as above. Sad : In Sanskrit we use the word vishada to explain something which is very sad news.

The English word sad is a simplified word of the Samskruta word ‘vishada’. Also in Sanskrit ‘shada’ means something loss or feeling down. This is the greatness of the Sanskrit.

Scale : To scale the fish we have the word sakala / shakala. Sakala is also consisting of parts divisible. Shallow : Sharaava means shallow cup or just shallow. Shock / sorrow : Shoka is the Sanskrit word. Shoka means shock / sorrow / anguish / pain / trouble / grief etc.

Sir : In English sir means to give respect. Similarly in Sanskrit we have a word called Sri‘ which has the same meaning, in fact a divine meaning. Spy : In Samskruta Spasha / Spash means spy. Stale : Stale means unpleasant smell. In Sanskrit ‘Sthaalika‘ has the similar meaning.

Steady / Statue : In Sanskrit ‘Sthaapita‘ means which is standing and steady like a statue. Swear : Shapati / Shapat is the Sanskrit word. Also from our ‘svaram / svara / svar’ we swear, that’s the secret behind the word swear.

Jump : Sanskrit is so great. In Sanskrit we have a word called ‘Lampham / Lampha / Lamph’ means jump. Invigorate : Invati / inoti is the Sanskrit word, which means to get strength. Use : In Sanskrit the word is ‘upayoga‘ and also another word ‘Yuj / Yugakte’ which has one of the meaning as use.

Wax : Wax is mainly used to move something very smoothly and easily with least effort, like a machine or a shutter etc. In Sanskrit the word ‘vakh‘ also means to move. Another Sanskrit word ‘vaak’ means voice. Vakh and vaak are different entities.

Win / Won : ‘Vanati‘ or simply ‘van’ means win or won in Sanskrit. Wish : In Sanskrit we have a word called ‘Avashya‘ (Give importance to second of the word avashya), which means ‘wish will be granted’.

Toss / throw : We have word called ‘tasyati‘ or ‘tas‘ which means toss or throw something or someone.

Union : In Sanskrit ‘YUni‘ means union. Daily : In Sansrkit the word is ‘Dinam / Dina / Din’. Wage : Wage means price of a race or battle or some hardwork. ‘Vaaja‘ in Sanskrit has also the same meaning. Also in Samskruta ‘Vetanam / Vetana / Vetan’ means a kind of money given as salary of some hardwork.

Varnish : ‘Varnaayati or Varnaa’ means to varnish the wall. Wed / Wedding : In Samskruta ‘Vadu‘ means bride. Means Vadu getting married is wedding and Vadu is wed. Zebra : In Sanskrit VanagardabhaH-rAsabha means zebra. Zebra is the simple meaning of the above Sanskrit word.

Flower : Pulla is the Sanskrit word. There are other words too for English word flower in Sanskrit like pushpa, kusuma etc. Flower = Plower = Pulwer. French: fleur German: Blume Italian: fiore Portuguese: flor Russian: цветок Spanish: flor.

Mate / Mating : In Sanskrit ‘Maithuna‘ is the word used. Mate / Mating is directly taken from the Sanskrit word. Translations (pairing of organisms for copulation) French: accouplement, monte German: Paarung, Begattung Russian: спаривание Spanish: apareamiento.

History : In Sanskrit we have a word called ‘itihasa / itihas’, which has the same meaning as history. History = istory = itihas. Translations (aggregate of past events) French: histoire German: Geschichte Italian: storia Portuguese: histórico Russian: история Spanish: historia.

Geometry : We have a very nice word in Samskruta called jyAmitIya (jyaamitiiya) which means geometry in English. Translations (branch of mathematics dealing with spatial relationships) French: géométrie German: Geometrie Italian: geometria Russian: геометрия Spanish: geometría Geometry in English.

Fail : This word is derived from the Sanskrit word ‘aphala or aphal or afal’ (अफल). In Sanskrit afal means not getting any results or a failure.
