ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮದ (1000 ಹೆಸರುಗಳು) ಅರ್ಥ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಸ್ತೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೆ, ಹೇಗಿದ್ದೀರಾ ನೀವು? ಭಗವಂತ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಸದಾ ಇರಲಿ. ‘ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮ’ ಎಂದರೆ ಭಗವಂತ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ 1000 ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ಎಂದರ್ಥ. ಆದರೆ ಭಗವಂತ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿಗೆ ಕೇವಲ 1000 ಹೆಸರುಗಳಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಇದರ ಅರ್ಥವಲ್ಲ. "ಈ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಕಣಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಎಣಿಸಬಹುದು, ಆದರೆ ಭಗವಮತ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಹೆಸರುಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಎಣಿಸುವುದು ಕಷ್ಟ" ಎಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು ಹೇಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಇದು ಭಗವಂತ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಯಾರು ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವಾಗ ಬರೆದಿರುವುದು? ಹೌದು, ಇದನ್ನು ಮಹಾಭಾರತದ ಮಹಾಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ವೇದ ವ್ಯಾಸರು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮವನ್ನು ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರ ಮತ್ತು ಬೇರೆಯ ಪಾಂಡವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಲು ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಭೀಷ್ಮರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಇದನ್ನು ಮಹಾನ್‌ ಮನುಷ್ಯೋತ್ತಮರಾಗಿರುವ ಭೀಷ್ಮರು ಪುನಃ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಭೀಷ್ಮ ಏಕಾದಶಿಯ ದಿನದಂದು, ಅಂದರೆ, ಭಗವಂತ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಸೂಚನೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಮಾಘ ಮಾಸಾ (ತಿಂಗಳು) ಶುಕ್ಲ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಏಕಾದಶಿಯಂದು, ಮಹಾಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾಭಾರತದ ಯುದ್ಧದ ನಂತರ 'ಶರಶಯ್ಯದ' (ಬಾಣಗಳ ಹಾಸಿಗೆ) ಮೇಲೆ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದ ಭೀಷ್ಮರು ಈ ದಿನ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಮ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವನ್ನು ಪಾಂಡವರಿಗೆ ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಭಗವಂತ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ದೈವಿಕ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಲಾಯಿತು. ಮೊದಲು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮವನ್ನು ನಾವು ತಿಳಿಯೋಣ, ನಂತರ ನಾವು ಭಗವಂತ ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ನಾವು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ.
