Shiva means, he is someone who give the ‘mangalakara’ / auspicious things. Shiva – Shi = Mangalakar / Auspicious, va = giver.
Total five faces.
Because he has Chandra (also known as Soma) in his jata / hairs.

Absolutely no. Ganga Devi is the consort of Sri Varuna Deva.
Lord Shiva has three eyes and thus he is known as Trinetra.
The names of the five faces are Aghora, tatpurusha, vaamadeva, sadyojaata and Eeshana.
Chatur Mukha Sri Brahma Deva is his father.
He was crying with roaring sound when he took birth and thus he is called as Rudra – ‘Rodanaat Rudra’.
He was born very fast and thus he is known as Sadyojaata. Sadyojaata – Saydo = Very fast, jaata = born.
When he was born his eyebrows were dark black and eyes were sharp red in color. Thus he is known as ‘NeelaLohita’. Neela = Dark, lohita = red.
She was born as Sati Devi.
Daksha Prajapati.
He had drunk a part of ‘haalaahala visha’ (highly poisonous drink) and thus his throat turned into dark colr. Thus he is known as ‘Neelakantha’. Neelakantha – Neela = Dark color, kantha = throat.
Lord Shiva killed Tripurasura.
Three demons names were Vidyunmali, Tarakaksha and Kamalakshya.
Because they were the kings of three puras (places). One with gold, one with silver and one with iron. Tarakaksha = Gold, Kamalakshya = Silver, Vidyunmali = Iron.
No, Hanuman is the incarnation of Sri Vayu Deva.
That asura name was Mukasura.
Durvasa, Ashvattama and Shukacharya.
Because he can be easily pleased.
Aghora.
As he has Damaruga in one of his hands while dancing / doing tandava.
As he has Jata, he is known as ‘Doorjati’.
As he has killed a demon named Gajasura by entering the body of an elephant and he was covered with the body of a elephant when he did the Tandava Nrutya, he is called as Gajacharmambaradhara.
A demons named Neela came in the disguise of an elephant as Gajasura. He entered the body of an elephant and attacked Shiva. Shiva also entered the body of another elephant and did the Taandava nrutya there itself and killed the demon Gajasura from within the elephant. Thus he is called as Gajasuramardhana..
As he has Nandi as his mount.
As Lord Shiva is carrying Ganga on his head.
Because he burnt down Kaama Deva.
Because he lives in Kailasa along with his family.
Because he wears animal skin as his dress. For this reason, he is also called as Charmambaradara.
Because he controls our mind. Manoniyamaka – Mano = mind, niyamaka = controller.
As he is the head of all the Demigods starting from Indra Deva.
Because he fights with Yamadeva to save Markandeya from the clutches of the death.
Because he is an expert in doing ‘tandava nrutya’ (tandava dance).
Ganesha and Kartikeya.
Because he wears Vasuki Naga as his abharana (jewel).
Because he is superior / isha to Parvati Devi.
Because she was the same as Sati Devi in her earlier life and also she had done very hard penance to marry Lord Shiva.
Because he has pinaka as his weapon.
Because he has deer (Saranga) in his hands.
Because he is the source of sukha / happiness.
Because he is the source of auspiciousness / happiness. Shanka (not Shankha) = Auspiciousness / happiness, kara = giver.
Because he is the laya karta (doing the dissolution of the universe).
Because he is the highly beautiful. Vaamadeva – Vaama = highly beautiful, deva = God.
Because Bhagavan Vishnu’s left sife Lord Shiva has the place. Vamadeva – Vama = left side, Deva = God.
Because he is the son of Brahma Deva. Virinchiputra – Virinchi = Brahma Deva, putra = son.
Because he has Vrushabha as Dwaja (flag).
Because he drunk part of ‘haalaahala visha’ during the amruta manthana.
Because he has Trishula in one of his hands.
Because he killed the Tripurasura.
Because he shatru / enemy of Adharmis.
Because he had done ugra (very hard) tapas (penance) for Bhagavan Vishnu.
Somanatheshwara (Sourashtra) Mallikarjuna (Srishaila) Mahakaala (Ujjaini) Omkaram (Amaleshwara) Vaidyanatheshwara (Parali) Bheemasankara (South) Rameshwara (Ramasethu) Nageshwara (Dharukaranya – Dwaraka) Vishweshwara (Varanasi) Trayambakeshwara(Godavari) Kedareshwara (Kedara) Ghushmesha (Shivalaya).
