Just before knowing “Sri Krishna Rukmini Satyabhama story (Tulabharam / Weighing)“, let us all have a small brief and important information.

Lord Sri Krishna is swayam (directly) Lord Sri Vishnu. Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi and Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi both are avatars of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi.

Lord Sri Krishna’s first main consort is Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi. Second main consort is Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi and third most consort is Goddess Sri Jambavati Devi.

(Goddess Sri Jambavati’s original name is Sri Rohini Devi. Since she is the daughter of a bear called Jambavan, she is also called as Jambavati. She is an avatar of Goddess Sri Tulasi Devi).

Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi had taken ‘shanta swabhava‘ (calm natured) avatar.

Whereas Sri Satyabhama Devi had taken ‘avesha swabhava‘ (fiery natured). But both are the avatars of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi as said above. Now let’s move to the main story.

Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi (She is also avatar of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi), is one of the ashtabharya (first eight wives of Lord Sri Krishna) of Lord Sri Krishna.

Once Devarishi Narada Muni brings one Parijata Pushpam (A divine flower belonging to Svarga Loka) from the Indra Loka and gives it to Lord Sri Krishna.

And Devarishi Narada Muni tells Lord Sri Krishna to handover this Parijata Pushpam (Divine flower) to your most loving wife.

At that time Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi (She is also avatar of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi) will be beside Lord Sri Krishna and thus Lord Sri Krishna hands over the Parijata Pushpam (divine flower) to Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi.

The sugandha (Divine fragrance) of that flower was so much charming that all over the Dwaraka (Dwarka) the smell will be covered like the cloud of rain.

Everyone in the Dwarka (Dwarka) will be surprised to spell the sugandha (Divine fragnance) of that flower.

Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi comes to know that the Devarishi Narada Muni has given the Parijata Pushpam (divine flower) to her Lord Sri Krishna and Lord Sri Krishna has given it to his first main consort Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi

After knowing this, Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi becomes furious.

(We should always remember that whatever Lord Sri Krishna and his consorts are doing, that will be only leela / drama / pastime.)

(And more importantly it is only to teach common people the lessons and to improve our way of thinking and living).

Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi becomes Jealous of Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi.

Later Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi calls the ‘Triloka Sanchari‘ and asks a way, how to keep her Lord Sri Krishna ‘only and always with her‘.

(Here Trilona Sanchari means, someone who moves in all the three worlds, that is, Devarishi Narada Muni.)

She asks the Brahmarishi (Narada Muni) a way, so that Lord Sri Krishna should not think of any other person than herself and becomes her Dasa / servant of hers.

For this Devarishi (Narada Muni) suggests a way.

Devarishi Narada Muni suggests Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi to do a vrata (vrat) (Divine austerity).

With this vrata (vrat), Lord Sri Krishna will become her Dasa / servant forever. (But who can make the one and only Lord Sri Krishna a Dasa / servant).

Devarishi Narada Muni continues and says that, the vrata (vrat) (Divine austerity) should be started in Brahma Mahurta (Muhurat), that is, in the before the early morning itself.

The wife who is doing this vrata (vrat) (Divine austerity) should get up in early to Brahma Mahurta (Muhurat) (much more earlier than the early morning).

And that wife should take bath using only normal water (no hot water).

After doing the vrata (vrat) (Divine austerity) and after completing all the rules as per the vrata (vrat), the wife should make the danam / donation of her husband to a great personality.

After making the danam / donation of the husband, the wife can take back the husband making the Tulabharam (a way of weighing someone) using a takkadi (tolana yantra) (weight weighing machine / weighing scale).

The husband should be kept on one side of the takkadi (tolana yantra) (weighing scale) and equal weight of the valuables should be kept on the other side.

Thus after completing all the formalities of the vrata (vrat), that the husband can be taken back by wife.

But this can happen only after she puts an equal amount of the valuable on the other side of the takkadi (tolana yantra) (weighing scale).

But for Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi one thing keeps on disturbing in her mind, that who should be that personality to whom she can give danam / donation of her husband.

For this Devarishi Narada Muni says, that the personality should be highly knowledgeable, that personality should be a great Bhakta / devotee of Lord Sri Krishna.

And if he is the Triloka Sanchari (one who can travel in all the three worlds) that it is always better.

After hearing this, Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi says that Maharshi Narada Muni is talking about himself.

And thus, Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi requests the Maharshi Narada Muni himself to come tomorrow and accept the danam / donation.

After all this, Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi tells to Maharshi Narada Muni that she has the valuables worth billions of her husband’s weight.

Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi tells to Devarishi Narada Muni that she has valuables of buying millions of the Krishnas like her husband.

Hearing this, Devarishi Narada Muni meditates (remembers) on Lord Sri Vishnu (Krishna) and smiles within himself and leaves the place.

Then finally, the day comes for the tulabharam (weighing ceremony).

After completing all the formalities of the vrata (vrat), Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi comes for the tulabharam (weighing ceremony) of her husband along with her husband Lord Sri Krishna and with Devarishi Narada Muni.

Lord Sri Krishna sits on the one side of the takkadi (tolana yantra) (weighing scale) and Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi starts to keep all the valuables on the other side of the takkadi (tolana yantra) (weighing scale).

First Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi keeps her Bhanuvar’s (Sunday) jewellery, then Somavar’s (Monday) jewellery.

Similarly, then Mangalvar’s (Tuesday), then Budhavar’s (Wednesday), then Guruvar’s (Thursday), Shukravar’s (Friday) and also the Shanivar’s (Saturday) jewelry.

But, the other side of the takkadi (tolana yantra) (weighting scale) will not move even an mili-meter.

Then, Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi calls her sakhi / friend and orders her to bring all the other jewelries too from her jewelry room.

Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi starts keeping all the jewelry on the other side of the Lord Sri Krishna.

But to Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi’s surprise nothing happens, nothing moves.

Now, Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi orders her sakhis / friends to bring all the gold, diamonds, rubies, jems which were given by her parents

Even on keeping all these jewelry nothing moves, nothing happens.

Thus, Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi starts to lose her cool and starts shouting at all the people present at the tulabharam (weighing ceremony).

(Expect at Devarishi Narada Muni, as he is the present owner of her husband / Lord Sri Krishna.)

Maharshi Narada Muni asks Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi what is her next plan.

For this no answer comes from Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi.

After this Devarishi Narada Muni orders Lord Sri Krishna to come along with him outside.

[This is just to teach lesson to paamara people (ordinary humans) like us or else who can orders to swayam Lord Sri Krishna.]

Thus Devarishi Narada Muni brings Lord Sri Krishna to a market and starts to auction him in the market.

Devarshi Narada Muni tells the people of Dwaraka (Dwarka) that, who ever makes the highest bid can take the Lord Sri Krishna with himself.

(Who will come forward for this. Everyone knows, no body can buy Lord Sri Krishna with money and greed).

Thus nobody comes front to buy Lord Sri Krishna in the Dwaraka (Dwarka) market.

At his stage, Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi would have lost all her furiousness, her ego, her own greatness, etc.

(Note : Again, please remember this is the lesson for us and nothing else.)

Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi with her eyes full of water comes near the Devarishi Narada Muni and again asks a way to get back her husband Lord Sri Krishna.

For this Maharshi Narada Muni says, that nothing can buy or win over Lord Sri Krishna.

No money, no jewelry, no gems, no rubies, no diamonds, no palaces, nothing can buy or win Lord Sri Krishna except a SHUDDHHA BHAKTI (Divine pure devotion).

For this again Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi requests to Maharshi Narada Muni that, how Shuddhha Bhakti (Divine pure devotion) can win Lord Sri Krishna.

For this Devarshi Narada Muni says that, only a person with Shuddhha Bhakti (Divine pure devotion) can win Lord Sri Krishna.

Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi weeping asks to Triloka Sanchari (Devarishi Narada Muni) that –

“who is that person on this earth who has a Shuddhha Bhakti (Divine pure devotion) so that, that person can win Lord Sri Krishna.”

For this Maharshi Narada Muni says, there are millions of such people around this globe. Best among is the great Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi.

Then immediately Goddess Sri Satyabhama Devi requests her sakhis / friends to bring Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi.

Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi after hearing everything from the sakhis / friends, brings a leaf of Tulasi plant (Tulasi dala) along with her.

After reaching the place of Tulabharam, immediately Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi prays for the Lord Sri Krishna silently in her heart.

And Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi keeps the leaf of Tulasi on the other side of the Takkadi (tolana yantra) (weighing scale).

Immediately the Takkadi (tolana yantra) (weighing scale) balances with the weight of the Lord Sri Krishna and the Tulasi leaf being the same weight of the Lord Sri Krishna himself.

And thus Goddess Sri Rukmini Devi being the consort (wife) of the Lord Sri Krishna wins back the Lord Sri Krishna to herself.

After this, Maharshi Narada Muni tells to everybody present in the place that “ONLY BHAKTI (devotion) CAN WIN LORD SRI KRISHNA AND NOTHING ELSE“.
