Just before going to “Why did Sita went into fire? (Correct and full information as per Valmiki Ramayana) | Why did Sita go through Agni Pariksha? | How (did) Ravana abducted (original) Sita“, let us have some brief information.
Few of the common questions discussed regarding this topic is as given below:
Why did Sita went into fire? | Did did Sita went into fire? | Why did Sita go through Agni Pariksha? |
Why did Ravana not touch Sita? | How is Sita compared to the fire? | And many more…
This post will answer all these questions and will also clear your mind about the reality and myth behind this situation of Sita Devi and Fire Test (Agni Pariksha).
This post will also give you better idea about “After Maricha was killed, what happened in Ramayana”, “Did Ravana kidnapped Sita?” and “Sita entering fire correct story”.
On returning to His ashram (hermitage) after killing Maricha, Lord Sri Rama found the ashram (hermitage) empty.
Lord Sri Rama moved on in the forest in search of his consort Goddess Sri Sita Devi along with his brother Lakshmana.
First Lord Sri Rama saw Jatayu bird, who was hurt by the demon Ravana. He learned about Ravana kidnapping Goddess Sri Sita Devi from Jatayu bird.
Lord Sri Rama moved on and killed a demon named Kabandha on the way.
Then Lord Sri Rama met Shabari (earlier she was an anpara) in Matangavana (Matanga Maharishi ashram / hermitage) and received her hospitality.
Then Lord Sri Rama saw his greatest devotee Hanuman and Sugriva on Rishyamuka Hill.
(Hanuman is an avatar of Lord Sri Vayu Deva and Sugriva is an avatar of Lord Sri Surya Deva.)
(During Mahabharata period, Lord Sri Vayu Deva takes an avatar of Bhima and Lord Sri Surya Deva takes the avatar of Karna.)
Hanuman approached Lord Sri Rama and prostrated at His feet.
Hanuman, who prostrated at the feet of Lord Sri Rama, was taken up by Lord Sri Rama’s arms with great affection.
Hanuman took Lord Sri Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulders and brought them to Rishyamuka hill, where Sugriva was staying.
Sugriva explained his pitiable condition on account of his brother’s (Vali’s) aggressive posture.
Lord Sri Rama promised him (Sugriva) that his aggressive brother Vali will be killed, and the kingship will be restored to him.
(Vali was an avatar of Lord Sri Indra Deva. This same Lord Sri Indra Deva takes an avatar of Arjuna during the Mahabharata period.)
In turn, Sugriva also agreed to help Lord Sri Rama to find Goddess Sri Sita Devi.
However, Sugriva wanted to know whether Lord Sri Rama had a sufficient amount of strength to fight Vali.
Therefore, Sugriva showed Lord Sri Rama the body of Dundubhi, who was killed by brother Vali.
Lord Sri Rama threw that dead body a hundred yojanas away with just the touch of His toe.
The carcass killed a number of demons living on Rasatala, an underworld.
Then, Sugriva showed Lord Sri Rama seven demons present in the form of seven tala vriksha (Palm trees) and said that if He could destroy these with one arrow, He could kill Vali.
Lord Sri Rama destroyed all of them (7 Palm trees) with just one arrow, which, after destroying the palm trees, pierced the seven underworlds viz.,
Atala, Vitala, Sutala, Rasātala, Talātala, Mahātala, Pātāl and also destroyed the demons group known as Kumiudi.
Then, Sugriva took Lord Sri Rama to the city of Kishkindha to kill Vali.
Vali pounced on Sugriva, but Lord Sri Rama did not kill him, pretending that he could not distinguish between the two.
But the real reason was to give an opportunity for the brothers to reconcile and to avoid a confrontation.
Even the long enmity between the brothers vanishes when they reach the point of crisis.
When Sugriva again appealed to Lord Sri Rama to kill Vali, Lord Sri Rama threw a strong arrow at Vali and killed him.
It is well-known that Lord Sri Rama killed Vali from behind a tree. The reason for this was neither fear nor treachery.
Vali was also a great devotee and would have prostrated at the feet of Lord Sri Rama if he had seen him.
Then, it would have been a dilemma to Lord Sri Rama whether to stand by His promise to Sugriva or to stand by Vali, who had prostrated at His feet.
Therefore, Lord Sri Rama preferred to be invisible.

Then, during the rainy season, there was a halt for four months (due to chaturmasas – four months of rainy season).
Sugriva had not taken any initiative to find Goddess Sri Sita Devi.
However, on the strong advice of Hanuman, Sugriva informed all the vanaras (monkeys) spread over different parts of the world to gather in Kishkinda and to start the search of Sita Devi.
Lord Sri Rama gave his ring to Hanuman to show it to Sita Devi for identity.
After a good deal of wandering, they found that the time limit given by Sugriva was over.
Tara and Angada (two monkeys) suggested that the efforts should be abandoned.
But Hanuman opposed this. They moved on and ultimately reached the Mahendra Mountain.
At this place, they met Sampati, Jatayu bird’s elder brother. Sampati informed them that he had seen Ravana taking Sita Devi away. She is kept in Ashokavana in Lanka.
The distance between Mahendra Mountain and Lanka was a hundred yojanas.
Other vanaras (monkeys) were not able to jump this far. They all appealed to Hanuman to cross the sea and trace Sita Devi.
Hanuman offers salutations to Lord Sri Rama in his mind before he takes a big jump over the sea.
The sea became turbulent, and the living beings within the sea came out.
The trees on the Mahendra mountain were uprooted and the Mainaka mountain came out of the sea to offer him (Hanuman) a resting place.
As he moved on, the mother of the serpents, viz. Surasa, confronts him (Hanuman). He enters her belly and comes out.
Then, Simhika, a demoness who used to drag persons by attacking their shadows, drags him (Hanuman) (this is similar to today’s Bermuda Triangle). He destroyed her also.
Finally, Hanuman lands on the Trikuta hill that surrounded the city of Lanka.
Throughout the process of crossing the sea, Hanuman had considerably expanded his body.
Now, Hanuman contracts his body to as small as a cat. He finds Sita Devi in Ashokavana under a Simshupa tree.
Hanuman hands the ring given by Lord Sri Rama to Sita Devi. In return, Sita Devi gives her Chudamani (jewel worn by women on the top of the head) to Hanuman to give to Lord Sri Rama.
In order to make Ravana aware of his strength and mission, Hanuman starts destroying Ravana’s gardens (remember even these trees were demons in the form of trees).
On hearing this, Ravana asks his army to punish Hanuman. Finding that they were not able to do the task, he deputes his son, Aksha (Akshayakumara / Akshaykumar).
Hanuman kills Aksha (Akshayakumara / Akshaykumar – He is the youngest son of Ravana).
Then Indrajit (Also called Meghanada – He is the eldest son of Ravana) is deputed.
Indrajit employs the Brahmastra against Hanuman.
Out of respect for Lord Sri Brahma Deva, Hanuman pretends to have been caught.
The demons tie Hanuman with Nagapasha (Serpent thread). Finding that they have used an inferior weapon, the Brahmastra returns.
Then Hanuman is taken into Ravana’s presence. Ravana orders Hanuman’s tail to be burned. With the fire applied to his tail, Hanuman burns Lanka and returns to Lord Sri Rama.
Hanuman offers the Chudamani to Lord Sri Rama and embraces Him with great affection, as it were, offering himself as a present to Him.
With Lord Sri Rama lying on a grass mat in order to persuade the sea to make the way for Him to go to Lanka.
This was the mild way of persuading the sea God (Lord Sri Varuna Deva) before any harsh step was taken.
At that time, Vibhishana came to join Lord Sri Rama and fight against his own brother Ravana since his conduct was adharma (unrighteous work).
Sugreeva and all the others opposed accepting Vibhishna as he belonged to the enemy’s group.
However, Hanuman stated that Vibhishana is genuinely supporting Lord Sri Rama and that he be accepted.
Lord Sri Rama accepted Vibhishana and coronated him on the kingdom of Lanka as he was sure of the defeat of Ravana.
Since the sea God (Lord Sri Varuna Deva) did not make way easily, Lord Sri Rama took His arrow to aim at him.
The samudraraja, that is, sea God Lord Sri Varuana Deva came out and suggested that a bridge be built over the sea.
Lord Sri Rama had Nala (an avatar of Vishvakarma) build the bridge assisted by the vanaras (monkeys).
Lord Sri Rama and others crossed the sea and landed on Lanka.
Ravana had made elaborate arrangements to protect the four gates of the city of Lanka.
Lord Sri Rama also made appropriate distribution of the vanara (monkey) army.
After Ravana is killed, Lord Shiva challenges Lord Sri Rama to fight since He had killed his devotee Ravana.
Then, Lord Sri Rama gets His arrow ready to aim at Lord Shiva.
However, Lord Shiva realizes his mistake. Then, a fire ordeal is pretended for Sita Devi’s Pratikriti (portrait of Sita Devi).
[We need to remember that original Sita Devi had gone to Kailash mountain and only pratikriti (portrait) of Sita Devi was kidnapped by Ravana.]
Goddess Sri Sita Devi returns from Kailash and joins Lord Sri Rama.
Lord Sri Rama returns to Ayodhya by Pushpaka Vimana (airplane).
Lord Sri Rama is coronated as the king of Ayodhya. Lord Sri Rama favors all suitably.
Hanuman asks for only uninterrupted devotion towards Lord Sri Rama.
Now my dear friends, Valmiki Ramayana clearly says that only the Pratikriti (portrait) of Sita Devi enters the fire (Agni Pariksha) and not the original Goddess Sri Sita Devi.
Goddess Sri Sita Devi who had gone to Kailash returns back and gets united with Lord Sri Rama.
Note : Ravana never abducts or touches Goddess Sri Sita Devi, instead he abducts the portrait of Sita Devi which was looking similar to Goddess Sri Sita Devi.
My dear friends, always remember, liberals always have been creating their own imaginary stories to create confusion among the Sajjanas (good people).
As a Sajjana, you need to think as per Sanatana Dharma and then you need to make the final decision.
Sanatana Dharma doesn’t has even 0.00000001… % of erroneousness. This is 100% true.
Their a hidden truth about these liberals too. Lord Sri Vishnu wants to send a group of people to naraka (hell).
If all went to Vaikuntha, Swarga Loka, etc. then who will go to Naraka (hell).
Thus remember my dear friends, Naraka (hell) is specially designed for these liberals.
They will surely enjoy the fruits of Naraka (hell) in Naraka (hell), there is not two questions regarding this.
Now, you decide, are you a Sajjan (Sajjana) or an ultra modern liberal, it is left to you…
