How Lord Rama and Lord Krishna are different?
Namaste friends, how are you doing today? Bhagavan Sri Vishnu blessings to you and your family!
Mahabharata and Ramayana are the two greatest epics of the Hinduism. In Ramayana, Bhagavan Sri Rama’s greatness has been explained, whereas in Mahabharata, Bhagavan Sri Krishna’s greatness has been explained.
Rama avatar – Sri Rama himself went to the daityas (demons) and killed all of them. E.g., Sri Rama went to Vali’s place and killed him, went to Ravana’s place and killed him etc.
Krishna avatar – The daityas (demons) themselves came near Sri Krishna and got killed. E.g., Putana, Shakatasura, Trunavarta, etc all came to Sri Krishna and got killed.
Even during the killing of Kamsa, Sri Krishna didn’t went to Mathura, but instead he was asked by Kamsa to come there. In Shishupala, Dantavakra’s case also they themselves came to attack him, but instead got killed.

Rama avatar – Sri Rama married only once, that is, to Sri Sita Devi and she is an avatar of Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi
Krishna avatar – Sri Krishna married 16,108 divine women. In that Sri Rukmini Devi and Sri Satyabhama Devi are both avatars of Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi and also we should know that the other 16,106 divine women were also having the sannidhana (divine presence) of Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi.
Without the sannidhana of Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi, Bhagavan Sri Krishna (Vishnu) will never ever marry anyone.

How Krishna killed Narakasur and married 16,100 women
Rama avatar – During Sri Rama Avatar, Aadi Shesha Deva that is, Lakshmana never went against the wishes of Sri Rama.
Krishna Avatar – During Sri Krishna Avatar, Aadi Shesha Deva that is, Balarama went against the wishes of Sri Krishna. For example, Balarama teaches ‘Gada Yuddha’ (mace fighting) to Duryodhana. Thus Balarama loses his ‘punya karma’ (good Karmas) which he had accomplished during the Lakshmana avatar.
Rama avatar – In Rama avatar Sri Vayu Deva took the avatar of Hanuman and served Bhagavan Sri Rama.
Krishna avatar – In Krishna avatar Sri Vayu Deva took the avatar of Bhima and served Bhagavan Sri Krishna.
Rama avatar – In this avatar Sri Rama was called as ‘Eka patni vratasta’ (to marry only one divine woman).
Krishna avatar – In this avatar Sri Krishna married 16,108 divine women. All these divine women (other than Sri Rukmini Devi and Sri Satyabhama Devi) in their earlier lives had requested Bhagavan to get married. Thus Bhagavan had promised in the Sri Krishna avatar he will definitely fulfill the wishes of all these divine women.
There is nothing that Bhagavan will get from these divine women. But instead these divine women got all the divine and material things from Bhagavan. This is not easy for ordinary people to understand. This needs lots of ‘jnana’ (divine knowledge) and ‘bhakti’ (divine devotion).
Rama avatar – In this avatar, there was no one who was a ‘kruri’ (cruel), demon etc in his own family or relatives.
Krishna avatar – In this avatar, there were many who were ‘kruri’ (cruel), demons etc in his own family and relatives. E.g., Kamsa, Duryodhana, Shishupala etc.
Rama avatar – In Rama avatar, he had only two children, that is, Kusha (elder) and Lava.
Krishna avatar – In Krishna avatar, he had 10 male children and 1 female child from each of his divine consorts starting from Sri Rukmini Devi etc.

Rama avatar – Sri Rama was born after the ‘putrakameshti yagna’ by Dasharatha and his wives (mother name is Kausalya Devi).
Krishna avatar – Sri Krishna was born as the earlier lives’ ‘punya karma’ (divine Karmas as per the earlier lives) from Devaki Devi and Vasudeva.
We should always remember that, there is no difference between the avatars of Bhagavan Sri Rama and Bhagavan Sri Krishna. There both are one and the same.
In Sri Rama avatar, he shows us the path of Dharma in one way. Whereas in the Sri Krishna avatar also, he shows us the path of Dharma in another way.
Sri Rama and / or Sri Krishna can never ever be two different entities. What they teach will automatically becomes Dharma.
