Just before going to “Adi Parashakti (Om Shakti) (correct) information, facts, significance, importance“, let us know few basic and important information.
Hi friends, let us think out of the box, but as per Hindu scriptures. Many people think of the imaginary Devi(s) known as Adi Parashakti, Om Shakti, etc. as the Goddess Sri Durga Devi.
Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi is the last divine Goddess that comes to today’s Kali Yuga people’s mind.
We should always remember that, whatever is given in Hindu scriptures has to be followed and never the fictional, mythical, unreal, non-existent, fantasy, etc. type of Gods and Goddesses.
I am not trying to go against anyone’s faith. But, we should always be aware of the real facts as given in the Hindu scriptures.
Just for example, when someone is a student and want to buy one or more authentic text books which is as prescribed by a board.
Thus, that student(s) should always get the text books which are prescribed by a board, good teacher (lecturer, professor).
And definitely not someone who is a third party person who knows little or limited knowledge about the values of the text books.
Now, let’s know few real and correct facts about Goddess Sri Durga Devi as prescribed by Hindu scriptures.
List of Adi Parashakti (Om Shakti) unknown facts are as given below:
Rigveda is the origin of knowledge about Goddess Sri Durga Devi | In Ambhruni (Ambhrini) Sukta about Goddess Sri Durga Devi info is given |
Lord (Sage) Sri Vedavyasa Ji is the author of Devi Bhagavatam | Devi Bhagavatam is one of 18 Upa Puranas | Devi Bhagavatam speaks about Goddess Sri Durga Devi |
Brahmasutra (2.2.42-45) should be used to negate the imaginary Devis | Om Shakti or Para Shakti conflicts with Goddess Sri Durga Devi |
To know about Goddess Sri Durga Devi, knowledge about Vedas, Puranas, Itihasas is a must | Comparison between popular version vs. real version of Nava Durgas |
Who is the real Goddess Sri Durga Devi | Agnana (ignorance) and Moha (soft spot) should go-away | And much more…
Now, let us move to know more and correct knowledge about Goddess Sri Durga Devi:
Before that, let us know few points about Adi Parashakti or Om Shakti or any such kind of imaginary Devis which is existing in Kali Yuga.
Is Om Shakti or Adi Parashakti is Goddess Sri Durga Devi – Not in one of the Hindu scriptures the names like Om Shakti or Adi Parashakti etc. have been mentioned. This is completely man made and fictitious and 100% imaginary.
The creators of Shaktism belief argue and praise the existence of a primordial Goddess from whom the trimurtis are born, that is, Lord Sri Brahma Deva, Lord Sri Vishnu and Lord Sri Maheshwara (Shiva).
These fictitious creators also quote the relevant inputs from Devi Bhagavatam to justify these views.
However, thanks to ‘Sri Madhvacharya Ji‘ who has given us the correct knowledge about the Goddess Sri Durga Devi by giving verse to verse meaning taking shlokas (slokas) (hymns) from Hindu scriptures.
It is very well explained about the real values about the Goddess Sri Durga Devi which can be accepted and we can keep away the so called imaginary and fictitious Devis which are completely unacceptable as per Hindu scriptures.
One among the 18 Upa Puranas is Devi Bhagavatam. This is not a ‘Satvika Purana‘ and its words conflict and contradict the view held by Vedas i.e., supremacy of Lord Sri Vishnu.
In addition, Lord (Sage) Sri Vedavyasa Ji who himself compiled these divine Puranas cites three sutras in Brahmasutra (2.2.42-45) to negate this Om Shakti, Adi Parashakti etc. views.
1. उत्पत्यसंभवात् (ಉತ್ಪತ್ಯಸಂಭವಾತ್ / utpatyasambhavāt / Utpatyasambhavat) | 2. न च कर्तुः करणम् (ನ ಚ ಕರ್ತುಃ ಕರಣಮ್ / na ca kartuḥ karaṇam / Na Cha Kartuh Karanam) |
This is summarized in Anuvyakhyana as given below : The view that Om Shakti or Adi Parashakti etc. referred with names like Devi, Mahati, Hrinkari, Bhairavi etc. –
as the source from which all Devatas (Demigods) and humans and the world is born is completely unacceptable and incorrect.
This is because, the lineage can exists only by the union of a male and a female. But in highly special situations from male alone.
The inputs that Om Shakti, Adi Parashakti etc. is the mother of all, surely conflicts with Sadgamas, that is, Vedas, Ithihasa and Satvika Puranas etc. Thus it cannot be accepted as per the Hindu scriptures.
Lord (Sage) Sri Vedavyasa Ji, who wrote all the puranas by himself, has hinted on interpreting these puranas.
Lord (Sage) Sri Vedavyasa Ji says that: “Those who set out to give explanation about Vedas, Puranas and Itihasas need to have knowledge of bhashatraya (Here Bhashatraya means, three types of bhashas), 7 vyatyasas and Reeti shataka (100 reetis).
If a person gives incorrect knowledge, then he / she is bound to get totally incorrect awareness about knowledge which will surely lead to wearisome hell.”
A clear path and combined view appears when the principles of Lord (Sage) Sri Vedavyasa Ji is understood and correctly applied to the interpretation of Vedas, Itihasas, Puranas. As per Lord (Sage) Sri Vedavyasa Ji, Lord Sri Vishnu is the supreme and ultimate.
As given in ‘Ambhruni (Ambhruni) Sukta’ in Rigveda, praising the “Goddess / Devi” clarifies this as given below:
मम योनिरप्स्वंतः समुद्रे ततो वि तिष्टे भुवनानि विश्वो || ಮಮ ಯೋನಿ ರತ್ಸ್ವಂತಃ ಸಮುದ್ರೇ ತತೋ ವಿ ತಿಷ್ಟೆ ಭುವನಾನಿ ವಿಶ್ವೋ || mama yōni ratsvantaḥ samudrē tatō vi tiṣṭe bhuvanāni viśvō ||
“I (Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi) create the universe and also all the beings in it. I promote those I like to the post of Lord Sri Brahma Deva, Lord Sri Rudra (Shiva).”
“I myself make the highly talented, the Rishis. But, my creator lies in the sea of Pralaya (Lord Sri Vishnu)”.
Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi says that: “she creates the universe and also the beings in it.” Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi adds that: “she promotes Devatas like Lord Sri Brahma Deva, Lord Sri Rudra Deva (Shiva) etc.”
Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi herself makes the highly talented people, Rishis etc., but finally she also adds that “she is completely dependent on Lord Sri Vishnu for anything and everything.” This is the real meaning.
From this, we can easily and clearly understand that the highest Devi (Goddess) is Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi as given in this shloka of Ambhruni (Ambhrini) Sukta.
(Few people pronounce this as Ambrini Sukta which is incorrect).
In addition to above explanation, it is Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi who does all the creation, maintenance, and dissolution – but Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi is completely dependent on Lord SRi Vishnu and she is not at all independent.
Goddess Sri Lakshmi does this all as per the instructions and grace of Lord Sri Vishnu, who makes the original creation, maintenance and dissolution.
Devi Bhagavatam itself, which initiates the idea of Om Shakti or Adi Parashakti provides the clue that Lord Sri Vishnu is the supreme in multiple aspects in its very first chapter itself. But people who read it with dyed eyes will not always oversee it.

tēṣāṁ madhye hariḥ śrēṣṭō mādhavaḥ puruṣōttamaḥ ||
From the above shloka, it is clear that śrēṣṭō mādhavaḥ, that is, Lord Vishnu (Madhava) is the supreme.
By now it should be abundantly very much clear that, there is no such thing as Om Shakti or Adi Parashakti as per Hindu scriptures and it is purely man made theory.
Is Goddess Sri Parvati Devi the supreme Goddess Sri Durga Devi:
Now, let us understand “is Goddess Sri Parvati Devi the supreme Goddess Sri Durga Devi”. The connection to Goddess Sri Parvati Devi is obvious even when one considers the popular Navadurga names.
The popular forms of Goddess Sri Parvati Devi’s Navadurga forms are as given below:
1. Shailaputri (शैलपुत्री / ಶೈಲಪುತ್ರಿ / śailaputri) | 2. Brahmacharini (ब्रह्मचारिणि / ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚಾರಿಣಿ / brahmacāriṇi) | 3. Chandraghanta (चंद्रघंट / ಚಂದ್ರಘಂಟ / candraghaṇṭa) |
4. Kushmanda (कूष्मांड / ಕೂಷ್ಮಾಂಡ / kūṣmāṇḍa) | 5. Skandamata (स्कंदमात / ಸ್ಕಂದಮಾತ / skandamāta) | 6. Katyayini (कात्यायिनि / ಕಾತ್ಯಾಯಿನಿ / kātyāyini) |
7. Kalaratri (कालरात्रि / ಕಾಲರಾತ್ರಿ / kālarātri) | 8. Mahagowri (महागौरि / ಮಹಾಗೌರಿ / mahāgauri) | 9. Siddhidhatri (सिद्धिधात्रि / ಸಿದ್ಧಿಧಾತ್ರಿ / sid’dhidhātri) |
From the above, four out of Navadurga (Nine Durga) names, that is –
Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Skandamata and Mahagowri are very clearly Goddess Sri Parvati Devi names. It is very much understandable that Goddess Sri Parvati Devi is also Goddess Sri Durga Devi.
Who is real and supreme Goddess Sri Durga Devi: It is Sri Madhwacharya Ji who has given the ultimate explanation about Goddess Sri Durga Devi.
Sri Madhwacharya Ji quotes ‘Paingi shruti’ in Bruhadaranyaka Upanishad Bhashya listing out the various Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi Roopas (forms) and avatars among which Goddess Sri Durga Devi is one.
The complete list of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi as given in Bruhadaranyaka Upanishad is as given below:
1. Sri (श्री / ಶ್ರೀ / śrī) | 2. Bhu (भू / ಭೂ / bhū) | 3. Durga (दुर्गा / ದುರ್ಗಾ / durgā) (Durga is a name and form of Goddess Lakshmi) | 4. Hri (ह्री / ಹ್ರೀ / hrī) |
5. Mahalakshmi (महालक्ष्मि / ಮಹಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ / mahālakṣmi) | 6. Dakshina (दक्षिण / ದಕ್ಷಿಣ / dakṣiṇa) | 7. Sita (सीत / ಸೀತ / sīta) |
8. Jayanti (जयंति / ಜಯಂತಿ / jayanti) | 9. Satyabhama (सत्यभाम / ಸತ್ಯಭಾಮ / satyabhāma) | 10. Rukmini (रुक्मिणि / ರುಕ್ಮಿಣಿ / rukmiṇi) |
Apart from these roopas (forms), Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi takes unlimited forms including the consort of the Lord Sri Vishnu’s avatars.
To know a long list of Goddess Lakshmi avatars, click this link: List of Goddess Lakshmi avatars
From the above explanation, it is very much clear that Goddess Sri Durga Devi is mainly a form of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi.
Second most supreme Goddess Sri Durga Devi is Goddess Sri Sarasvati Devi and third most supreme Goddess Sri Durga Devi is Goddess Sri Parvati Devi. This is the correct clarity as per Hindu scriptures.
Among the various roopas (forms) of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi, the trinamas (Three names), that is, Sri, Bhu and Durga are the most important ones.
Srimad Bhagavatam (Sri Vishnu Purana) tells that: 1. As Sri, Goddess Lakshmi controls and manifests sattva gunas (qualities) in beings. |
2. As Bhu, Goddess Durga controls and manifests rajasa gunas (qualities) in beings. | 3. As Durga, Goddess Durga controls and manifests tamasa gunas (qualities) in beings.
Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi makes beings (living beings) fall prey to aham (ego), selfishness causing sorrow and lose knowledge.
The Navadurga (Nine Durgas) forms of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi are as given below:
1. Durga (दुर्गा / ದುರ್ಗಾ / durgā) | 2. Aryaa (आर्या / ಆರ್ಯಾ / āryā) | 3. Bhagavati (भगवति / ಭಗವತಿ / bhagavati) |
4. Kumari (कुमारि / ಕುಮಾರಿ / kumāri) | 5. Ambika (अंबिका / ಅಂಬಿಕಾ / ambikā) | 6. Mahishamardini (महिषमर्दिनि / ಮಹಿಷಮರ್ದಿನಿ / mahiṣamardini) |
7. Chandika (चंडिका / ಚಂಡಿಕಾ / caṇḍikā) | 8. Saraswati (सरस्वति / ಸರಸ್ವತಿ / sarasvati) | 9. Vageeshwari (वागीश्वरि / ವಾಗೀಶ್ವರಿ / vāgīśvari) |
Real Hindu scriptures followers and real meaning seekers are supposed to worship these nine forms of Goddess Sri Durga Devi in Navaratri through antaryami upasana.
But the high expectations seekers or business minded mainstream media is so much forgotten the real values of Hindu scriptures, that they just want to make money by forgetting the real values as per the Hindu scriptures.
Even Srimad Bhagavatam (Sri Vishnu Purana) in 10th skanda mentions us about Goddess Sri Durga Devi who is Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi herself.

Lord Sri Krishna instructs Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi to manifest in Yashoda Devi and people will worship you with names as given below:
1. Durga (दुर्गा / ದುರ್ಗಾ / durgā) | 2. Bhadrakali (भद्रकाळि / ಭದ್ರಕಾಳಿ / bhadrakāḷi) | 3. Vijaya (विजया / ವಿಜಯಾ / vijayā) | 4. Vaishnavi (वैष्णवि / ವೈಷ್ಣವಿ / vaiṣṇavi) |

8. Madhavi (माधवि / ಮಾಧವಿ / mādhavi) | 9. Kanyaka (कन्यका / ಕನ್ಯಕಾ / kan’yakā) | 10. Maya (माया / ಮಾಯಾ / māyā) |
11. Narayani (नारायणि / ನಾರಾಯಣಿ / nārāyaṇi) | 12. Ishana (इशाना / ಈಶಾನಾ / īśānā) | 13. Sharada (शारदा / ಶಾರದಾ / śāradā) | 14. Ambika (अंबिका / ಅಂಬಿಕಾ / ambikā) |
More knowledge about Goddess Sri Durga Devi:
1. ‘Prakasha Samhita’ (प्रकाश संहित / ಪ್ರಕಾಶ ಸಂಹಿತ / prakāśa sanhita)
Prakasha Samhita correlates the ‘Linga sharira’ of each of us to a coconut shell.
Just like a coconut shell has three holes at the top, but still binds the water, etc. inside it, the three roopas (forms) of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi, that is, Sri, Bhu and Durga controls and binds us to the trigunas (Sattva, Rajasika and Tamasika).
2. How come Sri, Bhu and Durga forms and specially Goddess Sri Durga Devi in this context come into picture during Pralaya?
Again, Prakasha Samhita adds some knowledge about this. Prakasha Samhit says that Sri takes the form of water, Bhu takes the form of the leaf on which Lord Sri Vishnu sleeps and Durga forms the darkness encompassing this.
3. Worship of Lord Sri Vishnu and Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi
Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi and her forms wrongful upasana (Divine worship) is more widely spread among Devi (Shaktism) worshippers in Kali Yuga.
Foremost points have been sidelined, especially about Lord Vishnu. Incorrect knowledge about Lord Sri Vishnu and Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi etc. is highly troublesome.
Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi is auspiciously ‘maha pativrata’ and she does not tolerate this.
Any Lord Sri Vishnu’s worship, Durga Namaskaram, Chandika Homam etc. done without the real anusandhana (Divine knowledge) will not yield good results in the long run.
4. Agnana (ignorance) and Moha (soft spot)
Sri Madhwacharya Ji in his ‘Gita Tatparya’ says a devotee of Lord Sri Vishnu has to cross the three gunas, that is –
Sattva Guna, Rajasika Guna and Tamasika Guna and their abhimanis (Controller deities), that is Sri, Bhu and Durga to reach Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi Devi. Only with her grace, a devotee can easily reach Lord Sri Vishnu.
For example, Agnana (ignorance) and moha (soft spot) are the biggest obstacles faced by sadhaka in this Kali Yuga. Goddess Sri Durga Devi’s grace is absolutely essential to overcome these obstacles.
5. During Pralaya
During pralaya, Lord Narayana (Vishnu) sleeps alongside Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi with her three forms, that is, Sri, Bhu and Durga.
Now, it is left to you to believe the correct Goddess Sri Durga Devi as per the Hindu Texts (scriptures) or do you want to continue worshipping the imaginary Goddess Om Shakti or Adi Parashakti is left to you.

For your kind information let me explain you i agree that lord vishnu is ultimate Godhead . But laxmi is considered to be shakti and counter part of lord vishnu, and also considered as mula prakriti. And about adiparashakti is considered as primordial power or supreme being who is ultimate source of power or energy exist in each every living being and even God.Through her will she created prakriti and purush only creation of universe is taken place. shakti or energy is feminine in nature creates the universe , preserve and destroy. If there is no energy or power , then there is no existence of God. Because without power or Energy God become corpse( dead body). Goddess durga is herself adiparashakti . Goddess saraswati, Goddess laxmi and Goddess parvati are the forms of Goddess Durga or Adiparashakti, she is not imaginary or fiction Goddess that you considered.
Dear Neerja,
In Ambhruni (Ambhrini) Suktam, Goddess Lakshmi Devi says she is the one who gives powers to all the Demigods starting from Lord Brahma, Lord Rudra etc. But at the end of the Suktam she also says that, she is not at all independent and is completely dependent on her consort Lord Vishnu.
Shubhamastu!

Yes, what you said is 100% right. But Goddess Maha Lakshmi Devi is herself is the primordial Goddess Durga, but she is not at all independent and is completely dependent on Lord Vishnu as per Sri Veda Vyasa Ji (An avatar of Lord Vishnu).
Lord vishnu is considered to be supreme God and preserver is none other male version of adiparashakti.
Dear Krishnan Hari,
Dhanyavad for your comment. I always welcome sakaratmakam (positive) comments like these.
Kindly note that as per Sri Veda Vyasa Ji (An avatar of Lord Vishnu) there is only one God, that is, Lord Vishnu and all others are Demigods. We don’t have any proof of what is said by you. Please share authentic information.
Shubhamastu!
The 10 avatar of vishnu is created from Das mahavidyas do u agree that
Sri Veda Vyasa Ji has never said this in any of the Hindu texts.
In Rig veda 10th mandala hymn 10.125 it is said as Divine mother devi shakti is behind all the everything that exist
Yes, you are right. But Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi is completely dependent on Lord Vishnu and is not at all independent – Ambhruni (Ambhrini) Suktam.
Adi Shakti has divided herself to Material Shakti (Durga or Parvati), Kali (Vidya Shakti) and Yog Maya (as Mayashakti).s Vidya Shakti she splits herself to 10 kinds of eternal knowledge also known as 10 Mahavidya.
The ten goddesses are known as wisdom goddesses. As per tantras these ten goddesses are original source of ten incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
From Dhumavati, Lord Matsya was incarnated
From Bagalamukhi, Lord Kurma was incarnated
From Bhairavi, Lord Varaha was incarnated
From Chinnamasta, Lord Narasimha was incarnated
From Tripurasundari, Lord Vaamana was incarnated
From Matangi, Lord Parashurama was incarnated
From Tara, Lord Rama was incarnated
From Kali, Lord Krishna was incarnated
From Kamala, Lord Buddha was incarnated
From Bhuvaneshvari, Lord Kalki will be incarnated
Sri Veda Vyasa Ji has never said in any of his texts about this.

Goddess Mahamaya lastly splits up as Maya, Mahamaya and Yogmaya. It is she who actually creates three kinds of Maya such that One subordinate another. In this respect, we have Yogmaya, Mahamaya and Maya.
Yoga Maya – She is the one who actually creates maya on gods and teaches them what to do and what not to do so that they can be connected to ultimate God.
She helped Lord Mahavishnu slay the demons Madhu and Kaitabha to save the world. Moreover, she is also the one that who takes Lord Vishnu to mystic Sleep hence called Yog Nindra of Lord Narayana.
It is required by yogis, sages and bhaktas so that they can be connected to GOD.
Mahamaya – She is the goddess that destroys the upfold of illusion. She is the one that creates and destroys maya. She is controlled by Yogmaya and hence subordinate to YogMaya and senior to Maya.
She emerges as seven mothers to destroy evil forces of Shumbha and Nishumbha, Being Chamunda one of them.
She is required to gain physical strength, health, satvik attributes and demotes anger, greed and arrogance.
Maya – She is the one who delude living beings from god and takes any being to the world of illusion.
She promotes greed, anger, and arrogance. It is assumed that in the Age of Kali Yuga, her effect is highest.
Again same thing, Yoga Maya or Maya is same as Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi. As said earlier, she is completely dependent on Lord Vishnu.
In that way we can lord vishnu is depend on shakti and shakti is depend on lord vishnu. As it is said lord vishnu considered as parabrahman that is said conscious or Atma (self) . Adiparashakti is power of parabrahman or equal to parabrahman. They inseparable from each other and they are 2 side of one coin . Moreover it is declared that directly or indirectly we worship shakti only.
No, Lord Vishnu (Krishna / Rama) is not at all dependent on Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi. But Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi is completely dependent on Lord Vishnu.
Lord Brahma says in Brahma-samhita:
isvarah paramah krsnah sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah |
anadir adir govindah sarva-karana-karanam ||
Krishna is the supreme deity known as Govinda. He has an eternal blissful spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no origin and is the prime cause of all causes. (Brahma-samhita 5.1)
Shubhamastu!
Just imagine without energy can you breathe, eat , walk ,think, lift without energy , Noway Even to charge mobile battery we need Energy, because without battery charge even mobile is dead. So just think say
Dear Neerja,
Again you are right, but half way only.
What you are telling is right. But to Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi who gives the energy etc., that is given by Lord Vishnu. Sri Maha Lakshmi is having unlimited powers, but she is not at all independent and is completely dependent on Lord Vishnu.
Shubhamastu!
The Devīsūkta:

Devisukta ashtama shloka
8. I verily myself breathe forth like the wind, issuing out form to all the created worlds; beyond the heaven, beyond the world (I Exist eternally – beyond space & time) – so vast am I in my greatness
Dear Neerja,
Dhanyavad for your long reply.
All these are correct and is very much acceptable and no question about these. But later Bhagavati Sri Maha Lakshmi herself tells that “I am not at all independent and is completely dependent on Lord Vishnu”. Off course, Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi is the second most highest Supreme Personality of the multiverses after Lord Vishnu and there is no question about that.
Can you give one authentic shloka from Hindu scriptures about the names ‘Adi Parashakti’ or ‘Om Shakti’.
Please improve my knowledge about this also.
Shubhamastu!
So you mean to say lalitha saharasnam were composed just for name sake? You know what you said that vishnu is all independent and mahalaxmi is dependent on lord vishnu. Okay let me tell you in order to create, preserve and destruct universe brahma need knowledge to create that his shakti is saraswati, vishnu has to preserve the universe he needs wealth so his shakti is laxmi , shiva has task to destruct so he need power so his shakti kali. So here to perform these activities gyan shakti, iccha shakti and kriya shakti is required. So gyan shakti is saraswati who helps brahma in creation , iccha shakti is laxmi who helps vishnu to sustain and observe and kriya shakti is kali / parvati helps shiva to destroy. So in lalitha saharasnam it states that Adiparashakti is gyan shakti, iccha shakti and kriya shakti swaroopini.
The Lalita Sahasranama is said to have been composed by the eight vaag devis (Vasini, Kameshvari, Aruna, Vimala, Jayani, Modini, Sarveshvari, and Kaulini) upon the command of the goddess Lalita herself. The sahasranama says that “One can worship Lalita only if she wishes us to do so.” This stotra occurs in the Brahmanda Purana (history of the universe) in the chapter of discussion between Hayagriva and Sage Agastya.Hayagriva is an incarnation of Vishnu with the head of a horse and is held to be the storehouse of knowledge. Agastya is one of the sages of yore and one of the stars of the constellation Saptarishi. At the request of Agastya, Hayagriva is said to have taught him the thousand holiest names of Lalita. The temple at Thirumeyachur, near Kumbakonam, is said to be where Agastya was initiated into this sahasranama. An alternative origin is that the Upanishad Bramham Mutt at Kanchipuram is where this initiation happened.
You are repeating the same thing.
As per all the Hindu scriptures, Lord Vishnu is the Supreme Personality and all others are completely dependent on Lord Vishnu starting from Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi, Lord Brahma Deva, Sri Sarasvati Devi, Lord Rudra Deva, Sri Parvati Devi, Lord Indra, etc. etc. etc.
Don’t declare the statement by just naming ambharini suktas saying that adiparashakti is just imagination or fiction. Ved vyas ji has written many vedic literature, purans and upanishad.versions maybe different but the achievement of goal is one. Onething in Hinduism there is one God that is parabrahman who is genderless with no attributes and shape Nirgun but it is in form AUM three syllable word A denotes for Brahma U denotes vishnu and M denotes shiva thus AUM is considered as primordial sound where trimurti exist and it is essence of ocean of bliss.parabrahman is static and unchangeable reality where adiparashakti is dynamic and changeable that of reality. In logically way we all know that woman gives birth to a child , so adi parashakti is femine in nature, by her own-will creates parashiva from her right part, through their union shiva and shakti is created and through them brahma, vishnu and mahesh are created and their counterpart are saraswati, laxmi and parvati, these tridevi are different form of one Goddess.
According to Sri Veda Vyasa Ji, Nirguna is a name of Lord Vishnu. This means, Lord Vishnu is not at all dependent on the three gunas, viz, Sattvika Guna, Tamasa Guna and Rajasa Guna and Lord Vishnu is free from all these three gunas. Lord Vishnu is not at all dependent on these three gunas. For this reason Lord Vishnu is called as Nirguna. Here Nirguna = No + Guna (Above said gunas).
This doesn’t means, Lord Vishnu doesn’t has Gunas (qualities). He is full of Gunas.
Lord Vishnu is ‘guna paripurna’, that is, Lord Vishnu is having all the qualities and is completely independent and not at all dependent on others.
You agree that union of man and woman a child is created so here itself is cleared that man is depend on women and women is depend on men.
This is for only for ordinary humans and not at all for Demigods and God. If God is dependent on others means, how can he be called as God. Here God means Lord Vishnu and 100% he is not at all dependent on any other Demigods (Devatas).
Lord Vishnu is called as ‘sarva svatantra’, that is, he is completely independent and not at all dependent on others.
Lord Vishnu creates Lord Brahma Deva, but not at all with the help of Goddess Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi. Just with one wish, Lord Vishnu can create unlimited Lord Brahmas and unlimited universes.
You know what,In Every living being purush tatva and shakti tatva is existed
U may be knowing the about sage bhringi who was devotee of Shiva believed alone in purush tattva tried to seperate adhinareshwar form of shiv shakti and then shakti made bringi to realize IMPORTANCE of shakti tattva because without shakti tattva human body is just ash. As for my observation since you are great devotee of lord lord vishnu you considered parabrahman as lord vishnu , But in different yuga Each and Every Diety is considered as parabrahman for vaishnavaites as vishnu is parabrahman, in shaivates shiva is parabrahman and in shaktism adiparashakti is parabrahman.
If lord vishnu is parabrahman then why lalitha saharasnam, devi bhagavat puran and devi mahatmayam , kalika puran declares adiparashakti as parabrahman. So you mean adi shankaracharya who composed lalitha saharasnam is utter waste then
Hygriva is avatar of lord vishnu told IMPORTANCE of sri yantra or sri vidya and hymn of lalitha saharasnam to sage agastya.
Who may be having knowledge of shri vidya , do you?
The worship of the Shri Yantra is central to the Shri Vidya system of Hindu worship. It represents the Goddess in the form of Devi Tripura Sundari, the natural beauty of the three worlds: Bhu Loka (Physical Plane, Consciousness of the Physical Plane), Bhuvar Loka (Antariksha or Intermediate Space, Sub-Consciousness of the Prana) and Swar Loka (Svarga or Heaven or Super-Consciousness of the Divine Mind). The Shri Yantra is the symbol of Hinduism, which is based on the Hindu philosophy of the vedas. The Shri Yantra is the object of devotion in Shri Vidya.
The Shri Yantra represents the evolution of the multiverse as a result of the natural Divine Will of the Godhead Aadi Paraa Shakti. The four upward-pointing isosceles triangles represent the Goddess’s masculine embodiment Brahm, while the five downward-pointing triangles symbolize the female embodiment Jagat jannani. The 12 and 15 sides of the four upward and five downward triangles also correspondingly symbolise, on the physical plane, the 12 sidereal zodiac signs of the Sun and 15 ‘nityas’ phase-signs of the Moon.
The Shri Yantra is also known as the nav chakra because it can be seen to consist of nine concentric layers that radiate outward from the bindu. (“Nau” or “nava” means “nine” in Sanskrit.) Each level corresponds to a mudra, a yogini and a specific form of the deity Tripura Sundari along with her mantra. The various deities residing in the nine levels of the Shri Yantra are described in the Devi Khadgamala Mantra. These levels, listed from outermost to innermost, are:[1]
Trailokya Mohana, the outermost square, traced in three lines and interrupted by four recessed portals;
Sarvasaa Paripuraka, the outer lotus, consisting of 16 petals;
Sarva Samkshobahana, the inner lotus, consisting of 8 petals;
Sarva Saubhagyadayaka, the outermost ring of small triangles (14 in total);
Sarvarthasadhaka, the next ring of triangles (10 in total);
Sarva Rakshakara, a smaller ring of 10 triangles;
Sarva Rogahara, a ring of 8 small triangles;
Sarva Siddhiprada, one small triangle containing the bindu at its center;
Sarva Anandamaya, the bindu.
In Sanskrit, the word “yantra” comes from the root word “yam,” which means “instrument” or “support,” and “tra,” derived from “trana,” meaning “release from bondage.” A yantra is an instrument or tool, for meditation and contemplation and supports spiritual liberation. There are hundreds of yantra designs related to deities, principles, and planets. Used in ceremonies and rituals, yantra designs can be found on paper or bark, or created from flower petals, ash, and rice.
For mediation practices or “vastu,” the vedic version of feng shui, a yantra is embossed on a square copper plate electroplated with gold. The plates are then ritually “charged” by priests — meaning that the physical objected is “tuned” to a specific vibration or energy. Once charged, the yantra is viewed as a sacred object.
I think you have good information about Shaktism. I suggest you to start a blog / website. It will be useful for all who follow Shaktism.
Thank you for your suggestions and had very nice information spared by you.
ParaBrahman (Sanskrit) [from para beyond + Brahman (neuter) universal self or spirit] – That which is beyond Brahman. The self-enduring, eternal, self-sufficient cause of all causes, the essence of everything in the cosmos. In the Vedic style of writing, ParaBrahman is referred to as tat (that) as opposed to the manifest universe called idam (this). ParaBrahman means Supreme Brahman, or Supreme Cosmic Spirit, or Godhead. Although an ineffable entity, it could be said to be that which contains and pervades the universe. ParaBrahman, from beyond, encompasses the transcendent and immanent ultimate reality, Brahman. The Absolute Truth is both subject and object, so there is no qualitative difference. Terms like Parameshvara, Ishvara,Â- Bhagavan, Brahman, Paramatm- a are held to be synonymous with ParaBrahman. Shaktas consider Adi parashakti considered as power of ParaBrahman. Hence considered to same. So actually Adi parashakti who does anything (creates, preserve or destroy) on behalf of ParaBrahman because ParaBrahman is static and Adi Parashakti is dynamic essence.
vadanti tat tattva-vidas tattvam, yaj jnanam advayam brahmeti paramatmeti, bhagavan iti sabdyate
Learned transcendentalists who know the Absolute Truth call this nondual substance Brahman, Paramatma or Bhagavan.” (Bhagavata Purana 1.2.11) [5]
brahma-vid- apnoti param, tad eshabhyukta, satyam jnanam anantam brahma
Whoever realizes the Supreme Brahman attains to supreme felicity. That Supreme Brahman is Eternal Truth (satyam), Omniscient (jnanam), Infinite (anantam). (Taittiriya Upanishad 2.1.1)
Upanishads further mention often that the Supreme Brahman is Eternal, Conscious, and Blissful (sat-chit-ânanda).
raso vai sa, rasam hy evayam labdhvanandi bhavati
The One is Bliss. Whoever perceives the Blissful One, the reservoir of pleasure, becomes blissful forever. (Taittiriya Upanishad)
Verily know the Supreme One to be Bliss.
Shakta- Conception
Param Brahman as OM and Parashakti as OM Shakti:Om is the Supreme Brahman. (Svetasvatara Upanishad 1:7)[7] Adi parashaktiis considered as the power of Param Brahman. They both are same, whether Vaishnavas or Shaivas, they both consider Her as power of formless and static Param Brahman, OM. What if there is no parashakti, then there will be no GOD. She is cause of all change. The Goddess who is known as the ultimate reality is the adi-parashakti, Goddess Bhuveneshwari or Parvati. In Shaktism, She is, was and will be only owner and source of this universe and all other universes and is regarded as dynamic form of ultimate reality, Param-Brahman. Shaktas consider her dynamic Param Brahman and Param Brahman is considered as Static Adi parashakti. So Param Brahman is neither male nor female. Adi parashakti is also neither male nor female. When there is no universe, they both unites from which universe is created and when Universe is created, Adi parashakti always comes in Female form first as only female can give birth. She then manifests herself as dynamic in feminine form like Goddess Durga, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati. Then she creates Trimurti and thus She is mother Goddess of all gods include Brahma, Vishnu andÂ- Mahesha, Starting from Vishnu to Brahma to Mahesha.
“The Primordial Power and the Supreme Brahman are identical. You can never think of the one without the other. They are like the gem and its brilliance. One cannot think of the brilliance without the gem, or of the gem without its brilliance. Again, it is like snake and its wriggling motion. One cannot think of the wriggling motion without the snake, or of the snake without its wriggling motion. These are two aspects of Reality: Purusha and Prakri- ti. He who is the Purusha is alsoPrakriti. Both are the embodiment of Bliss.” — Sri Aurobindo
Vaishnavism
Vedi- c scriptures usually quoted by Vaishnavas to point to Narayana as the Supreme Being, Bhagavan (Parabrahman in advaita terminology):
nityo nityanam chetanas chetananam eko bahunam yo vidadhati kaman
He is the prime eternal among all eternals. He is the supreme living entity of all living entities, and He alone is maintaining all life.
ete camsa-kalah pumsah krishnas tu bhagavan svayam indras vyakulam lokam mrdayanti yuge yuge
All incarnations are either plenary portions or expansions of plenary portions appearing in various universes to protect the theists; but Lord Krishna is the original supreme lord and the source of all.
isvara- paramah krishna sac-cid-ananda vigrahah anadir adir govindah sarva karana karanam
Lord Krishna is the supreme absolute controller, whose form comprises immortality, omniscience, and bliss. He is without beginning, the origin of all, the cause of all causes and the source of the Vedas.
namo brahmanya-devaya go-brahmana-hitaya ca jagad dhitaya krsnaya govindaya namo namah
Let me offer my humble obeisance unto Lord Vishnu, who is the worshipable deity for all brahminical people, who is the well-wisher of the cows and brahmanas and who is always benedicting all the universes. (Vishnu Purana 1.19.65) [12]
KrishnaÂ- Himself confirms this in the Bhagavad-Gita:
mattah parataram nanyat kincid asti dhananjaya mayi sarvam idam protam sutre mani-gana iva
There is no truth superior to Me. Everything rests upon Me, as pearls are strung on a thread.
arjuna uvaca, param brahma param dhama pavitram paramam bhavan purusham sasvatam divyam adi-devam ajam vibhum
Arjuna said: You are the Supreme Brahman, the ultimate abode, the purest, the Absolute Truth. You are the eternal, transcendental, original Person, the unborn, the greatest.
bhajagovinda- m bhajagovindam govindam bhajamuudhamate naamasmaranaadanyamupaayam nahi pashyaamo bhavatarane
Worship Govinda, worship Govinda, worship Govinda, Oh fool! Other than chanting the Lord’s names, there is no other way to cross the life’s ocean. (Bhaja Govindam, composed by Adi Shankaracharya)
naaraayan- a paro jyotir-aatmaa naarayana para, naarayanam param brahma tatvam naarayanam para, naarayana paro dhyaata dhyaanam naaraayana para
Narayana is, Para Jyoti, the greatest light, Para Atma, the super soul (Paramatman), Para Tatvam, the best of essences, Para Dhyata, the greatest meditator, Para Dhyanam, the best of meditations.
In Vaishnavism, ParaBrahman is the source of the Brahman effulgence[16] – and Vishnu or Krishna is established as the Supreme Personality of Godhead.[17]
yasya prabha prabhavato jagad-anda-koti-kotishv asesha-vasudhadi vibhuti-bhinnam tad brahma nishkalam anantam asesha-bhutamgovindam adi-purusham tam aham bhajami
Govinda, is the primeval Lord, whose effulgence is the source of the nondifferentiated Brahman me- ntioned in the Upanishads, being differentiated from the infinity of glories of the mundane universe appears as the indivisible, infinite, limitless, truth.
ParaBrahman as Narayana or Lord Swaminarayan is also the highest among the five eternal entities within Swaminarayana sect ofHinduism.
Shiva and Shakti Philosophy
Shiva, who is Parameshwara (The Transcendent Lord), who is Satchitananda, issued Shakti. Shakti is not coexistent with Parameshwara but is that Power of Him that is necessary for creation. Shiva and His Shakti are more than the creation which He/She manifests. Shakti, who is the first desire (Kama) of Shiva, is Herself the Divine Mother of the cosmos. When the diverse cosmos emerged from Shiva’s Shakti, the original desire that is the Primordial Will to be pervaded all manifestation. Microcosmically and macrocosmically, as above so below, all is Shiva/Shakti.
We can therefore say that the cosmos is the eternal undiluted Supreme Self expressed expansively from the central core that is Shiva/Shakti, thus enabling the Supreme Self to know, see, and live the Supreme Consciousness through its own self-willed limitation. By so doing the Divine Mother brings forth the stream of Truth embedded consciousness, later expressed as divine law, which is capable of recognizing Her as its primordial source. The cosmos, through this knowing of its source, unites with its Mother in the process of fulfilling the Great Work – Dharma. The penultimate purpose of the cosmos is mergence of the created drop with the ocean that is its Mother. This union is freely achieved within the constraints of Divine Law, brought forth by self limitation of the limitless light that Shiva/Shakti is. The pulsing throb that propels this eternal drive, this thrust for union, is AdiShakti, the Divine Mother as nature. She assumes this mantle without individuality, for She is the equal only of Herself as the silent witness within Her core, and She labours incessantly, through all of Her finite rays of light that define the cosmos, in conscious activity so that they, Her children, may become aware of themselves and merge in the ocean of self realized bliss.
All that is within all universes pre-exists within the Mother, for nothing can manifest that is not previously existent within Her womb. All evolution being directed towards perfection is the direct result of an innate knowing, a blueprint of limitless possibilities, brought forth by that which is resident within the created Shiva. This Principle precedes the expression, for without the Principle there can be no expression of its Will. Something does not emanate out of nothing.
