Just before going to “Goddess Saraswati Dwadasha Stotram lyrics in Sanskrit, Kannada, English”, let us have a small brief about Bhagavati Sri Saraswati Devi.

Sri Saraswati Devi (Sanskrit: श्री सरस्वती देवी) is the goddess of ‘vaak’ (vocal), that is, anything related to vocal like art, music, knowledge, speech, wisdom, studies etc. She is a part of the Tri Devis, that is, first is Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi, second is Sri Saraswati Devi and third is Sri Parvati Devi.

The earliest mention of Saraswati as a Bhagavati (Divine goddess) is in the Rigveda. She has remained significant as a goddess from the Vedic period through modern times of Hindu traditions.

Sri Saraswati Devi is usually will be having four arms, holds the Vedas, a maala (rosary), a water pot and a musical instrument Veena. Each of these items have symbolic meaning in Hinduism.

In the below stotram, Dwadasha means 12. In Sanskrit Dwadasha means 12. Here Goddess Saraswati Devi’s 12 names has been given.

|| अथ श्री सरस्वती द्वादश स्तोत्रं ||

सरस्वती त्वियं दृष्ट्वा वीणा पुस्तक धारिणी |
हंसवाह समायुक्ता विद्यादानकरी मम || १ ||

प्रथमं भारती नामा द्वितीयं च सरस्वती |
तृतीयं शारदादेवि चतुर्थं हंसवाहिनि || २ ||

पंचमं जगतीख्यातं षष्ठं वागीश्वरी तथा |
कौमारी सप्तमं प्रोक्तमष्टमं ब्रह्मचारिणी || ३ ||

नवमं बुद्धिधात्री च दशमं वरदायिनि |
एकादशं क्षुद्रघंटा द्वादशं भुवनेश्वरी || ४ ||

ब्राह्मी द्वादश नामानि त्रिसंध्यं यः पठेन्नरः |
जिह्वाग्रे वसते नित्यं ब्रह्मरूपा सरस्वती || ५ ||

|| इति श्री सरस्वती द्वादश स्तोत्रं सम्पूर्णं ||

|| ಅಥ ಶ್ರೀ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ದ್ವಾದಶ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಂ ||

ಸರಸ್ವತೀ ತ್ವಿಯಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ಯಾ ವೀಣಾ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಧಾರಿಣೀ |
ಹಂಸವಾಹ ಸಮಾಯುಕ್ತಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾದಾನಕರೀ ಮಮ || ೧ ||

ಪ್ರಥಮಂ ಭಾರತೀ ನಾಮಾ ದ್ವಿತೀಯಂ ಚ ಸರಸ್ವತೀ |
ತೃತೀಯಂ ಶಾರದಾದೇವಿ ಚತುರ್ಥಂ ಹಂಸವಾಹಿನಿ || ೨ ||

ಪಂಚಮಂ ಜಗತೀಖ್ಯಾತಂ ಷಷ್ಠಂ ವಾಗೀಶ್ವರೀ ತಥಾ |
ಕೌಮಾರೀ ಸಪ್ತಮಂ ಪ್ರೋಕ್ತಮಷ್ಟಮಂ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚಾರಿಣೀ || ೩ ||

ನವಮಂ ಬುದ್ಧಿಧಾತ್ರೀ ಚ ದಶಮಂ ವರದಾಯಿನಿ |
ಏಕಾದಶಂ ಕ್ಷುದ್ರಘಂಟಾ ದ್ವಾದಶಂ ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರೀ || ೪ ||

ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮೇ ದ್ವಾದಶ ನಾಮಾನಿ ತ್ರಿಸಂಧ್ಯಂ ಯಃ ಪಠೇನ್ನರಃ |
ಜಿಹ್ವಾಗ್ರೇ ವಸತೇ ನಿತ್ಯಂ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮರೂಪಾ ಸರಸ್ವತೀ || ೫ ||

|| ಇತಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ದ್ವಾದಶ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಂ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣಣಂ ||

|| atha śrī sarasvati dvādaśa stōtraṁ ||

sarasvatī tviyaṁ dr̥ṣṭyā vīṇā pustaka dhāriṇī |
hansavāha samāyuktā vidyādānakarī mama || 1 ||

prathamaṁ bhāratī nāmā dvitīyaṁ ca sarasvatī |
tr̥tīyaṁ śāradādēvi caturthaṁ hansavāhini || 2 ||

pan̄camaṁ jagatīkhyātaṁ ṣaṣṭhaṁ vāgīśvarī tathā |
kaumārī saptamaṁ prōktamaṣṭamaṁ brahmacāriṇī || 3 ||

navamaṁ bud’dhidhātrī ca daśamaṁ varadāyini |
ēkādaśaṁ kṣudraghaṇṭā dvādaśaṁ bhuvanēśvarī || 4 ||

brāhmē dvādaśa nāmāni trisandhyaṁ yaḥ paṭhēnnaraḥ |
jihvāgrē vasatē nityaṁ brahmarūpā sarasvatī || 5 ||
