Dear friends, today let us know “Why Lakshmi is called as Chanchala (unstable / whimsical / restless)” | “How to welcome Lakshmi at home

The house where Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi stays will always be wealthy, will always prosper and and will always be in healthy condition.

But, Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi is always unstable, whimsical, restless, fickle and thus she is called as “chanchala” (चंचल / ಚಂಚಲ / can̄cala —> In Sanskrit language).

Whoever follows a more pious and dharmic way as per our Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma), Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi will go to such type of houses.

So, even very small pious and dharmic rituals that we undertake, can make Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi happy for us.

Check out the following description of what ritual is to be done to get the blessings of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi, the Goddess of Prosperity and Wealth.

(We should always remember that, Goddess Sri Maha Lakshmi Devi not only give prosperity, wealth, etc.)

(But, Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi is the one who also provides all the material and spiritual things too, as per the instructions and wishes of Lord Vishnu.)

(E.g., Education, courage, stamina, health, physical power, food, grains, house, etc. etc. etc.)

List of dos and don’ts to get blessings of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi are as given below:

Worship of Tulsi Devi

Sweeping after sunset

Physical intimacy

Sleep during sunset (day time)

Washing the dishes (utensils)

Studying during sunset

Spitting in improper places etc.

More information about dos and don’ts to get blessings of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi are as given below:

Worship of Tulsi Devi: According to Hindu dharmic tradition, touching and worshiping Tulsi (basil) plant after sunset is forbidden.

If you do so, you will bring bad luck and poverty to you and your family.

Watering and worshiping the Tulsi (basil) plant is considered highly divine and sacred in Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma).

But it’s not in the evenings. In the evening, the ghee Deepa (lamp) has to be lit in front of Tulsi (basil) plant.

Thus, Tulsi Devi will eliminate the negative energy from our house. And Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi will enter into our house.

Sweeping after sunset: Sweeping in and out of the house after sunset is an ominous sign. It should not be done at all.

According to some traditions of Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma), if one sweeps after sunset, you will lose all your happiness and prosperity.

Everything and all wealth and prosperity will be washed away if one sweeps after sunset.

It is said that Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi will move away from home, if one sweeps after sunset.

Physical intimacy: We need to light a deepam (lamp) to God in the evening, and also prayers and / or bhajans (chanting the names of God) should be done.

It is said that Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi will arrive at this holy hour inside our house, where bhajans (chanting the names of God) takes place.

No such thing(s) as sleeping or intimate things should be done at that time (sunset).

That will invite bad luck and will lead to the wrath of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi.

When Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi is coming to our house, at that time, being in physical intimacy can lead to hardships in the future.

Sleep during sunset (day time): Worship and bhajans (chanting God names) of God should be done during sunset.

It is the most sacred time to meditate, doing bhajans (chanting of God names) and worship of God.

If you lie down and / or sleep during sunset time, it will attract negative energy (energies).

A person who sleeps during the sunset will have many health issues, including obesity and hypertension.

Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi will not enter in such type(s) of house, where one sleeps during the sunset time.

Washing the dishes (utensils): The dishes (utensils) should be washed and cleaned immediately after you complete your meals.

Keeping it at one place and washing it after sunset will cause Saturn (Shani Deva) and Moon (Chandra Deva) to be angry.

It is believed that Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi will bring wealth and prosperity, if one cleans the dishes (utensils) immediately after having food without drying it (utensils).

Studying during sunset: The study related things should not be done at the time of sunset.

If someone does the study during the sunset time, then, it will lead to the wrath of Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi.

Physical exercise and meditation (chanting God names) should be done instead of studying during sunset.

Then Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi will be happy and as well she will bless those kind of people.

But after sunset, study related things can be done.

Spitting in improper places: Do not spit in improper places and / or holy places.

The place around us must be kept healthy and clean. Spitting everywhere can cause sleaziness and it is completely unhealthy.

This will also attract negative energy. This behavior will lead to Goddess Sri Lakshmi’s anger.

And there will be a lot of trouble in the future.

Note : Even after not performing the above rituals as per the Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma), one may get money, but it will be only money and it will be rajas or tamas money.

But it won’t be sattvika wealth and it won’t lead you to prosperity and happiness, even though you may get money as per the rajas and tamas guna (quality).

(We should always remember that, Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi is the consort of Lord Vishnu and he is the most Supreme God and in the second position Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi is present.)

(In Ambhrini Sukta, Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi says that, she is completely dependent on Lord Vishnu, even though she can provide all the material and spiritual things.)

(Goddess Sri Lakshmi Devi provides all the material and spiritual things as per the instructions of Lord Vishnu.)

(Only Lord Vishnu is completely independent and thus he is the most Supreme and all others are known as Devatas / Demigods).
